  • Slanted groove towards the shoulder provides higher block stiffness due to consistent input force when cornering
  • Swirled shape groove offers a combination of round and straight elements which improves contact without losing block stiffness
  • Semi-slick pattern shoulder with fewer grooves provides a larger contact patch, higher block stiffness and confidence to the rider when cornering
  • Dry handling is significantly improved over the BT023
  • Some sizes available in GT Spec
  • GT Spec tires provide improved handling and stability for heavier, sport touring bikes and feature a slightly modified tread pattern on front and stiffer construction on rear

Love this Tire!!
I just bought my second set of these (GT version). I have a BMW R1200RT and it handles great with these tires! Much better than the Metzeler Z8s I had on previously. They have great dry grip and corner very well. I have a lot of confidence in these tires. Highway miles are also quiet and super smooth! I can put my cruise control on at 75mph, take my hands of the bars and go straight as an arrow! The Z8s couldn't do that. They handle fine in the rain too, but I ride very conservatively on wet roads and I'm sure I wouldn't push any tire to the point of lost traction on wet roads.
As to the life of the tires, I have just over 7000 miles on them and the rear is just about to the wear bars. I'm sure I will get 8000 miles on the rear but not much more than that. It is wearing great with no obvious flat spot.
The front tire is really impressive. No center ridge and is wearing just beautifully! could possibly get 10,000 miles but I change both front and rear at the same time. I'm also not that easy on tires but am pretty persistent on keeping the pressure where it should be. On these I run 40/42 PSI
I was going to try the PR4s this go around but I think Michelin is more hype than anything. Sure it's a good tire but over $100 more per set good? I seriously doubt it. These T-30s have me impressed and I'll stick with them. You can't go wrong with these especially for the price compared to some of the competitors.

Great tire so far!!!
I recently bought a set of these tires to replace the old worn out tires that were on the bike when I bought it. What a great purchase!!! After speaking with the gear gurus here at RevZilla and explaining the usage, they pointed me to these.

I now have about 2,000 miles on these tires.

The center stripe is hard so it wears very little which is great for those commuter days, however the shoulders are soft and sticky which inspires confidence when carving the canyons and really getting the bike leaned over (I have wear inside 1/2" from the lip of the tire) and the tires hold the road nicely.

I've ridden in the rain a few times (not my favorite) but these tires gave me enough confidence knowing I was securely planted on the road. Water is ejected nicely and no slides or hydroplaning happened even on the hilly, twisty road.

To summarize--- these tires are a great commuter tire with sticky shoulders that inspires confidence when leaning the bike over. Great for the commuter/weekend warrior!!!

Awesome street tire
I'll try to be short, but I can honestly say I have no complaints with this tire. I have 12,000 miles now on them with my 2009 FZ6, including five track days. These tires can easily handle knee down lean angles and last a long time. They seem to do well in the wet and cold as well.

PR4 quality for less $$$
I put a set of these (GT spec) on my 2009 Concours14 after researching several different tires including Michelin PR4's. After nearly 10,000 miles of mixed riding including a trip from Florida to Canada via the Dragon and Blue Ridge Parkway, I can definitely say I got my money's worth. The harder center compound of the rear holds up well on the interstate and the medium side compound, together with the soft compound front tire, inspire confidence even while throwing around a big ST loaded with luggage. I have not ridden the PR4's so the only comparison I can make is I got both the front and rear Bridgestones for the price of the rear Michelin. Money well spent.

Excellent handling, but after a few hundred miles there is quite a bit of wear on the outside portions of the tire. Since that is the purpose of the dual compound tire (equal wear on the outsides and middle), I believe they will eventually wear evenly. It probably depends on how much canyon vs. straight riding you are doing.

Bye Bye PR-4 Hello T-30
I just put 3K km on a set of the GT version and they are the best tires I've had on my 1250 Bandit. Much better than PR 4 GT's I just took off. Wear is excellent and no chicken strips. These tires turn in very easily and my bike has never handled this good. This will be my new go to tire if the wear is there.

very grippy and predictable handling
I use these on cross country trips 2up on my Ulysses.Had Angels once but at 8000 miles cords were showing, went for 023 Gt ever since, slightly less dry grip but way better longetivity.Tried these new T30 GT and dry handling is on par now with the Angel's with better front end feel and longetivity is the same....I will continue using these.

Great tire so far!
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I haven't put very many miles on it yet so I can't speak to it's long term reliability.

So far it's a great tire! I couldn't believe the immediate difference in the feel of my bike. My previous tire (Shinko) was pretty bald before I changed it to this one, so perhaps that has something to do with the drastic improvement. Never the less, the feel, traction and handling are awesome!

Of Course Revzilla matched a competitor's price AND provided their usual excellent customer service assistance with quick delivery. This makes them #1 in my book!

Great Tire
This is my first tire purchase, but compared to the stock Dunlop D222 Sportmax (Honda CBR500r OEM model), these are fantastic. The turn in is significantly faster and more natural feeling. I have 500 miles on them and they don't look worn. Stability in the corners is great and the shoulders feel very confidence inspiring. These seem lighter than the OEMs and also not as wide. I am not saying that is a bad thing, just accurate size as the Dunlop's measured past the size. I didn't rate them as 5 star because this is my second set of tires and my experience is limited. I got caught in the rain once and didn't feel any loss in stability, but I didn't try to find the traction limits. When going through 3 inch deep puddles, it steered true. For my commuting, low hp, low weight bike application, this is an excellent choice and represents a great value with the rebate. I would definitely buy again, since I do not feel like I need supersport levels of grip, but these tires are used at a race school on CBR600RRs.

Awesome bang for your buck tire! I religiously maintained 42 psi as recommended for my bike (ST 1300) and got 11,555 miles out of it since July 2014. Best tire I've had so far! Smooth, quiet, scrubbed in quickly, great in the corners, but best and most important of all for me was the long tread life.

I have had good luck with this tire on my FJR1300 and don't see the need to spend more money on the Pirelli Angel GT or the Michelin PR4 GT. It handles and wears well on the FJR1300.

Size I needed for my '97 Honda ST11. Price was right, and Reviews were good. Long trip is in the planning stage for late spring, and I need a reliable, higher mileage set of tires. I've had good luck with Bridgestones in the past - both on my motorcycles and my cars and trucks.

Robert K S on Nov 17, 2014
I was going on a cross country trip and needed a tire that could hold up to many miles on the highway with out breaking the bank. I felt that even if I was to wear out the tire it was a good value. 6K later the tire looks great and is holding up as good as any other tire I have used.
NYr1200RT on Oct 29, 2014
I had some Bridgestone Battlax BTO16R PRO. They were great handling tires but since I do more than twice freeway riding than canyon carving, they wore down to almost the wire down the middle while still having pretty good amount of tread on the sides. So now I wanted some tires that were stronger in middle but to still have that great grip on the sides to not lose the great handling aspect that the BTO16s had. Through research, reading reviews, and looking for good pricing, these T30-GTs seem to be what I am looking for. Hopefully they work out for me.
JAIME A on Oct 28, 2014
I have the BT-23s on my 2013 FJR and love them, but they are hard to find, not sure if they are discontinued, so I choose the T-30s after reading a bunch of reviews and info from Bridgestone. Hope to have the same success as the BT-23s.
Chris2265 on Oct 20, 2014
I have been using bridgestone on my fjr1300 since i bought it in 2005, very good tire for the money. Have been to florida, all over east coast and out west to colorado. Bridgestone has proven a good tire. Trying t30's by recommendation from fellow rider and very good breakdown of information from revzilla.

How does the T30 compare with the Angel GT?

Wear Rate?
Dry Grip?
Wet Grip?
A shopper on May 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Comfort feel
What are the numbers after the tire size? There is a choice of 73w, 70w or 69w. Each has a different price???
A shopper on Feb 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The numbers 73. 70 and 69 are load ratings.

73 = 805 lbs
70 = 739 lbs
69 = 716 lbs

The Letter "W" is the Speed Rating

W = 168 mph maximum Speed

You can find all the load and speed ratings by simply typing into your search engine "load and speed ratings for tires" and all sorts of hits will come up. As an aside Load Ratings are logical to the uneducated mind; the lower the number the lower the maximum load.

Wikipedia has a page devoted to reading codes on side of tires as do the tire manufacturer websites.
I have a 96 Honda ST1100 and these tires sounds like they're what might be one of top picks. I'm not an 'aggressive' rider, but do want tires that grip when needed. Mostly good reviews on your site, but truthfully...would you post negative points? I would like to know if there are any. I've ridden for 45 years and bought my share of Bridgestones with no complaints. I'd like to think my next set wouldn't be any different.
A shopper on Jan 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think these tires are great. I ride a 2002 Triumph Sprint RS quite aggressively but smoothly and have not had any troubles. I got about 9,000 kilometres out of the rear tire which is very acceptable to me. I don't commute, just sport touring trips and day rides. The rear tire wore beautifully with no degradation in profile. The front tire did not wear completely smoothly and started to triangulate a bit, but not enough to feel strange or start a "dropping in" sensation. The front was not as worn as the rear but wasn't far behind.
I would definitely recommend these tires.
I'm looking to replace a rear Avon Storm. Honestly, I'm pretty happy with the Storm, I got 13000 miles on my ST1100 doing road trips and commuting. I'm looking to get similar mileage. Any ideas on comparing these two? The price difference would be nice if the T30's will hold up as long. One of the reviews on this site has me worried about that. Thanks.
A shopper on Aug 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello there!

First of all, congrats on the ST1100 :) I've the same MC, a 1991 Silver, and I just installed front & rear T30s on my bike a month ago. The wear so far (~1000 miles) is very minimal & the grip/sportiness is fantastic. I dont think you have much to worry about, these tires have been well received on ST1100s & ST1300s.

If you havent yet done so, please do join ST-Owners dot com! You'll have a ton of ST1100 info at your fingertips, and also there's some real bad stuff that's happened to many riders using the Avon Storms, glad you are alright. The storms have caused many (more than 10) on the forum to experience blowouts! Its alarming - no one recommeds the storms for the ST1100 size.
Good luck with your T30 purchase! Great tire, no regrets.

What are the sportbike guys (and girls) running for tire pressure in the rear for canyon riding?
Jairo M on Jan 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I ran 41R and 39F.

However, while good on dry pavement they proved fairly slippery when pavement was wet. Much worse than old BT-21's or BT-23's.
Is this tire, in a GT spec, going to wear better or worse, mileage wise than the BT-023 GT?
A shopper on Jan 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Bridgestone themselves claim approximately 10% LESS mileage out of the T 30 Compared to the BT-023, both in the GT spec. Better traction out of the T 30 and about 10% lower priced than the BT-023. Personally I miss the BT-023, that was my favorite tire. I wish someone would make a Touring/Sport tire that favored better mileage for the touring style rider, rather than all these cookie cutter Sport/Touring tires than favor the sport rider.
For street riding on a heavy adventure bike (Super Tenere), how will these compare to Pilot Road Trail 4 tires? These are about $100 less.
Tom C on Jan 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I am using Shinko on R1200GS. I have 5K miles on the tires they seem to be wearing well. They handle well on the road and in "light" off road.. Can't beat the price.
Unfortunately I'm still running tubes in my tires. Would the 180/55/r17 73W fit my rim?
A shopper on Jan 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You want a tire that is intended to fit the make and model of your ride reguardless of the name of tire manufacturer. Make sure the wheels are made for your ride. Make sure the tire is made for your ride. You will have established the safest combination for you and your passenger. Always use an innertube, rim strip and sometimes a tire boot with wire spoke rims.
