Ariete Vintage Goggles

Ariete Vintage goggles are designed and made in cooperation with Nannini Italian Quality Srl, a legendary company famous for leather-framed motorcycle goggles. Their well-established tradition of quality combines modern technology in the production of frame and lens with highly specialized hand finishing of the sewn leather and metal components. The result is a product finished with perfect retro style, but in tune with the modern preference for natural materials. Nannini is a natural partner for Ariete, and these goggles display the same attention to detail and choice of high quality materials as seen in the existing Ariete product range.

The frames are made of chromium-plated steel, with side venting for comfort. The inner surface of the goggles is made from hand-sewn natural leather, while the suede outer surface has been specially treated to provide enhanced weatherproofing. Cylindrical lenses provide perfect visibility and total protection from UV rays as well as having an anti-fog treatment on the inside surface. The headband has a double buckle for easy adjustment, and a non-slip silicone band on the inside to keep it in place on the rider’s helmet.

Almost Perfect but ...
This is the fourth pair of googles I bought during the last two months. After my first three unsuccessful attempts, I decided to loosen the purse strings. There is no doubt that this is by far the best but if something is not wrong with my face or with my Shoei RJ Platinum-R helmet, the fit should be better at this price point.

The retro design, the consequent looks, the materials and workmanship do match the price tag. So does the comfortable feel. As for the anti-fog treatment; it is in its own league. It does not have any hint of fog under even extreme circumstances (sweating face and body on stationary bike). Neither my full face helmet nor my regular sunglasses can cope with these googles in terms of fogging, despite the fact that the latter allows a ton of air (and debris) to flow around my eyes.

The fit, on the hand, does not seem to be in the same class. The underside stays open: the velvety padding does not seal my cheek bones properly so that debris can still penetrate to my eyes, despite the perfect and comfortable seal on my forehead and temporal bones. I can fix this, provided that I am in front of a mirror for carefully tucking-in the corners under the helmet pads and making further adjustments with the googles, the headband and the helmet so that they all stay put. I don’t take the trouble for short runs. When I don’t, the downward visibility is also restricted. Other than that, peripheral visibility is excellent.

I like dark sunglasses. When I saw the smoked lens, I thought they would be too light for me but somehow, they work as if they were darker. The headband is made of a good material and the non-slip silicone works efficiently.

All in all, once the fit issue is fixed for longer runs, the goggles are very comfortable and ultimately fog free. They are almost perfect. At this price point, however, I give them four stars. After all, one gets what he pays for but the expectations are also in line with the price tag.

Great quality goggle, but fitment issue
The quality of these goggles appear to be second to none, however with my speed and strength 3/4 helmet, they pinch on the nose and are not deep wnough to seat on my cheek bones, a little disapointing. They would work good with a leather "helmet"

BEST ANSWER: The Ariete Goggles aren't rated.

Chrome plated steel frames with well ventilated UV protecting lenses. The leather trim and fabric band are comfortable.

Confident to use both highway and city - worn with my Hedon Helmet.

On long trips I wear Arai Corsair V - meaning I don't consider myself casual when it comes to protection.
do they fit over prescription glasses?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, I don't think so, they fit very tight to the face (eyes and nose).
