Stella SP-8 Glove Review
I purchased the Alpinestars Stella SP-8 Gloves- Blk/Wht.

Design & Function- Good design, I can appreciate the pinky safety stitching- since I ride track.
I'd like to see wrist & side palm sliders for the next revision. Knuckle guards are ok. But fit comfortably without any notice to them.
Fit- Sizing is accurate. I'm a medium. Long narrow hand n fingers. Fits perfect.
Wrist support was the #1 reason why i bought these gloves. Perfect at keeping my weak wrists in place; and hopefully preventing quick fatigue.

The down side-
Like one review already stated... Small/pinky finger inseam is Very Uncomfortable. Upside easy fix- it just needede to be stretched out/ broke in. *I had the brillaint idea of using a double A battery to stretch the pinky out better.
*Have the battery inserted half way in the finger and mash it down back in forth, while pulling the pinky down.
It took 9 minutes to break in the left glove, and 2 for the right.
*I would love the next generation to have this inseam error worked out. I almost returned them because of this obnoxious defect. Luckily creative ingenuity is key here.

Great gloves, would buy them again.

*Bikes: 1198, 1198S, GSXR 750, Triple Speed 1000, CBR600RR.

Pliable, good tactile feedback, but leaves a mess on my hands and the fingers are too short
They broke in quickly. Have really good feedback for a leather glove. I have long fingers and narrow hands. They fit my narrow hands well, but the fingers are too short. I don't mind it because the knuckle guards keep it from riding up and smashing my fingers, but if I had long nails it would hurt. It also makes it difficult to clutch and brake, not a problem for me because I have an electric bike (no clutch), and a short hand break, but it is difficult to ride my husband's Ducati. I think there is too much extra fabric at the gauntlet, makes it difficult to tuck it all in when I'm closing the gauntlets. But I have really small wrists. I wear the cuffs under my jacket and they fit well there considering they are gauntlets. It would be nice if there was a smaller adjustment strap to fine tune the wrist fit.

Also for some reason, even after a couple of of months in the heat, they still stain my hands black. I don't sweat very much in my hands, but it holds in ALL the moisture. Not good ventilation, but they are leather. In exchange, though, they are very protective. No sliders, but I'd choose that over losing any more feel from the bike.

I recommend it for my situation, but I will sacrifice for safety more than necessary. Be mindful of the short fingers, and the wrist fit. It's also not a good choice unless you are really looking for a study, protective glove and willing to sacrifice air flow and some feel for it. I like them, but will probably look for another kind next time. And they stain your hands. Basically right on the border of ok if you are doing anything less than dirt or track.

Great gloves, three pairs in
I've now owned three pairs of these; the first two pairs were the older version.

These were also the first pair of gloves I bought, and I crash tested them pretty thoroughly.

I lowsided at low speed three times hitting road debris at night, that I couldn't see due to poor visibility. I also low sided once at ~60 mph once again due to road debris at night.

Gravel three times, wet leaves once...

The last time I bit it I broke the knuckle plate on the side I went down on. I sustained no injuries during these crashes, except for perhaps the last, when I might've gotten a few bulging discs, but I also fell flat on my back on some overly polished wooden stairs a few weeks prior to the crash, so it could've been that.

Point is the gloves fit well, work great, and are quite affordably priced. I put in two Oregon winters with these, and they held up great.

The new pair looks even better, and the v2's look great.

I love these gloves - lasting FOREVER
I have had the black and white (women's small) for about two years now. I am only just now seeing a TINY bit of wear on the knuckle portion.

I LOVE these gloves. They fit me really well (I am petite and the small fits me perfectly). I love the way they look and they go over my many different jackets just fine.

I would buy these again -- if I need to. They are doing really well two years in -- even formed to my hand so they are super comfortable.

Best Gauntlet glove for the price.
I spend a lot of time weighing my options on purchasing a gauntlet glove that would be street friendly and that would transition to the track. This glove is by far the best glove in it's price range and the best bang for your buck. Safety-wise, it has almost everything except palm sliders, and for a glove that under $100, that's unheard of. I have an Alpinestars jacket and was extremely happy with the quality and the gloves did not disappoint me either. They fit right over my jacket sleeves seamlessly. The quality is up to par with $200 gloves. I really enjoy the styling and the carbon fiber knuckles for extra protection. The size is spot on. After 3-4 short rides, they were worn in and comfortable. I was worried at first because I went from a short mesh gloves and I could not feel the hand controls as well. This went away quickly. The only negative thing I can say about this glove is that they are not as warm as I expected them to be. I don't really consider it a complete negative considering how comfortable they are to ride in and that I will probably wear them year round now that I am used to them.

Good looking gloves and comfortable protection
These gloves fit according to the size chart and offer great protection on a budget. I like that the cuff comes up far for added wrist protection. They are a little tight but they are leather and will fit perfectly with more wear. They also look as good as the pictures.

My wife likes a lot her present.
Gloves are perfectly accomodated to the hand and fingers of my wife, they have excellent ventilation and are very comfortable to put on and remove. The colors blend well the skin is smooth and adaptable. In rain water is not filtered.

Looked great but didn't last long.
I bought these gloves at a local bike shop. I usually prefer my gloves to...well...for like a glove. Smalls weren't available so I went with the mediums. Fit was fairly snug around the palm area, but the fingers we a little long, manageable. They were comfortable and well broken in. Unfortunately they didn't last more than a month and a half. They weren't even my primary gloves! The stitching on the finger tips of the right middle and ring finger came apart. Even if the fingers were a bit long they the stitching should hold! Total disappointment. I'm in the market again for new gloves for the track. It was probably just a fluke but I can't recommend these in good conscience.

Truly a perfect fit
I measured my hand as instructed by the sizing chart and the gloves I received fit great. They are very simple but look great and are comfortable.

The only issue I have is that the colour of the leather has started to fade, more noticeably on one hand than the other.

Bought these for my wife. Very nice glove - but unless you have relatively thin hands the knuckle area is very tight when you grip the bars. would be better if the knuckle protection was the floating design.

I trust the Alpinestar brand. I've been down at the track and my Alpinestar leathers held up great. I can't say the same about my expensive brand new Spidi gloves at the time.

These gloves are awesome. I got the white and red version and they are great for high viz. They fit my fingers perfectly and the knuckle detail is beautiful. My hands feel protected. I've worn these in the winter and during rainy days. For the winter, I was able to squeeze them on with regular cotton, winter gloves. Highly recommended. I did not encounter any issues like previous posters about the inseams.
