Great boot
Took two days to wear in, and are now as comfortable to wear all day as a pair of slippers. They look great and I use them for work, which is generally a twelve hour day of flying.
Very lightweight, and hopefully will last.
My only wish is that alpinestars did them in brown...because I'd probably get a pair in each colour.
I'd definately recommend them.

Do what they say on the box.
About time I put a review up for these, now I've had a good 3 months+ of solid all day everyday wear.

The boots feel comfortable, light and secure on. This makes them comfortable on the bike, and around the office. I did a couple of 1-2km walks in them getting lunch. No issues. The lightness really needs to be commended, especially with the secure feel of them.

The leather is nice and soft (proper soft) and feels thick and good quality, as you'd expect for the price of the boots for what they are.

Sole has good grip, even in wet conditions, and for a fashion style boot a decent amount of rigidity to them. This was most notable when going back to my old street boots, which now feel rubbish.

The waterproofing works, I got caught in a proper tropical storm home a couple of times, given the amount of rain, and putting my foot straight in what could only be described as lakes, they held up well. They also weren't overly hot in the same summer tropical climate (given they are still a black leather waterproof boot, they can only be so cool).

Issues. The left boot has a small wear mark already on the gear leaver spot, little disappointing after 3 months. That said, I'm pretty rough on changes, and my leaver could be smoother.
Also, I found the gatter bit where the zip is to save doing shoe laces every time could have been wider. I really have to struggle to get the boots on without loosening the shoe laces a bit first. Even after 3 months of wear in they are still difficult Again, that said I like my boots tight, and I do have wide feet. Others may not have this issue.

Final comment, they look really good for a motorbike boot, but a proper dress boot they are not. They are a bit bulkier, and have a different shape to a dress boot. This is to be expected, protection has to fit in somewhere. I'm happy, and would highly recommend them for daily commute wear when a proper boots are inconvenient.

PS, sizing would be typical of your standard AStars size boot. I checked my sizing off super tech Rs. Same size for me.

Worth every penny. Great stylish boots.
I needed shoes I can wear to the office where it's business casual and really didn't want to have to change shoes when I get there. These boots fit that bill perfectly. Two things I didnt expect were how warm they kept my feet and how fast they broke in. I was able to do my admittedly short commute (20-25 minutes) in 30 degree weather and not even have cold feet wearing regular socks. They were broken in well by the fourth day or so. Love them so far, been about a month. Wish I could get them in brown or tan.

Good enough to ride to work, stylish enough to wear while there
I like these boots. I bought them to have some protective boots that I could wear with my kevlar chinos and feel like my feet and ankles were protected, while still looking good enough to wear in a professional office. These meet the bill. I live in Central Florida and ride year round.

Like:
* The leather is good quality and thick enough with a decent finish that looks better after being polished. Plus, if you want to wear them regularly, keep them polished, the base finish gets dull very quickly. They showed no signs of ever having been polished after being made.
* The fit is good. A bit narrow in the mid foot, but just enough room in the toe and heel. I wear an 11 shoe, and my 11 fit well.
* Ankle, toe and heel protection: Solid around the heel, hard around the toe and some padding on the ankle. The stiffness wore in by the 5th ride.
* Zip entry: Once the laces are tied, they are easy to get on and off. But move up to thicker socks and you will have to retie them.

Didn't like:
* The leather doesn't breath at all. (Well, any more than solid leather breathes). Because they are tight around the ankle, no air goes in or out. I put foot powder in when I put them on so I don't get sweaty during the day.
* You aren't going to fool anyone, these are MC boots, not Italian chukas. The quality of the leather and stitching are functional, not stylish.
* The laces that came with it were super short and didn't stay tied. (They had some stiffening, slick coating on them.) $2 worth of laces and the boots stay tied and look much better.
* The sole is nice, but the padding is lacking. They work for me because I rarely walk further than the lunch room while at work, but if you need to be on your feet all day, get insoles or something.
* I wish the top came up just another 3/4" or so. I think they all have the same height and when you get to size 11+, they need a bit more height to get well above the ankle bone.

Really, I just wish someone made a leather motorcycle boot that was good looking real leather from the ankle down, but about 1" taller than these and didn't look like Power Ranger boots or tactical assault boots.

Great commuter boot that blends in at the office
I've had these about a week now, and really like them as a commuting boot. They break in quickly, and look very unassuming around the office. The laces let you get a good, snug fit around the ankle, while the zips let you get in and out of them quickly. I haven't yet been able to test their waterproofness. I wear a 44 in both Sidi and TCX (usually wear a 10.5 in Nike), so I went with the size 10 here, and the fit was spot on. They may be a bit on the narrow side, but I find the fit pretty much ideal. Protection is sufficient for commuting speeds, but I 'd go with something more substantial for higher speeds. There's no shift pad on the toe (and the leather is quite soft) so we'll have to see how they wear over time. Overall I'm very happy with them.

Excellent boot. Solid construction, great style.
I'm a new rider and I never really considered the clothing part of owning a motorcycle. My hiking boots were the only over ankle shoe I owned and they felt and looked so out of place with the rest of my clothes when I was off the bike. I only rode in them once because I got sent on a business trip, but I was so excited about them that I decided to try and use them as my everyday shoes. Insanely comfortable and stylish. My feet felt great at the end of the day and they even look good with a collared shirt. Can't wait to get home to put them to use where they really belong!

*the 4 star was only because the soles felt a little slick on the floor of a restaurant I just went to. Grease on tile is obviously different than asphalt, but that may come into play on the bike some day, say, coming up to a gas pump.

This is a nice boot for church or out on the town while riding.
Thi boot sole has an amazing amount of grip. I like he minimal design. Its pretty light. A nice boot for what it is, but far from heavy duty. It is perfect for a business riding shoe.

Toeing the Line Between Fashion & Function
Got these as a gift after shopping waterproof street boots for a while. After looking at countless other options and beating up a pair of wolverines, these appeared to be the best compromise for riding shoes that I could commute everyday to the office in.
After having them for three months, they've become a staple and I find myself wearing them off the bike on cold or rainy days. I second the other reviewer- we need them in brown!
Obviously, they're not the SMX-plus, so don't expect GP-level protection, but they are built well and feel sturdy, especially on the sole, toe-box and ankle. Breathability is understandably sacrificed for the waterproofing, but even in 90 degree LA traffic, they're not feet killers.
The biggest downside is how slick the soles are. I was shocked to slip off my metal peg when mounting my bike, and can't believe such a crucial part of a waterproof boot was overlooked. They seem to be smoothing out more with wear, so I'll have to take them to a cobbler - something I haven't had to do on any boot except for those with leather soles.
Oh well, they're affordable, stylish and comfy - what more can you want?! Nice job A*stars!

I like that these boots don't stand out as motorcycle boots. With slacks on they look like tall dress shoes.
John S on Mar 28, 2017
Super stylish boots, very comfortable and fast to break in, with decent protection: reinforced toe, plastic slider under the leather on the sides, but they look almost as nice as dress boots. The toe is not really sculpted enough to pass at the bank unless it's casual friday. Still very nice boots.
David C on Mar 7, 2017
Should be perfect for the office.
Kevin J on Mar 1, 2017
I was looking for boots with some protection that would blend in, these will be my first motorcycle specific footwear. These offered the added benefit of fitting my office dress code so I have the option of not changing my shoes. The combination of laces and a side zipper offer the ability to get a secure fit but still get them on and off quickly. I will have to see how I use them, but these offer a lot of versatility.

Do these run large? I wear a 14 in Nike and these would be a great commuter/destination shoe.
Reginald W on Sep 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They run true to size. Should just order your normal size and they should fit fine.
I normally have to wear a wide sized shoe. 9.5 W to be exact, how would that work with these boots since i don't see a wide size?
Rhodri on Dec 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They felt slightly narrow to me - the first and only time I've work them so far.
How durable are these boots? I imagine with all the protective gear they would make sense to last for at least a year of daily use.
Launce B on May 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I've been using them for 6 months and I'm very please with their durability. I use them primarily to wear at work and on average on weekly rides. The zippers are durable and the leathers are still looking well. I do polish them every two months.
