1 year long term review
I've owned, ridden in and walked these shoes almost daily for an entire year now and I feel like I'm pretty well qualified to write a review at this point!

Let me start with the good things, of which there are many!
-after about a week of break in, these are THE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes/boots I own, PERIOD. On or off the bike, they fit perfect and are great. I wear them daily as a casual boot even if I'm not riding the bike that day. Seriously good stuff man.
-They look(ed) awesome. I got compliments on them all the time especially when they were new (more on that in a bit) and complimented my overall style really well.
-I had the unfortunate chance to test their CE rated protection by way of a 45 mph highside on pavement in which I landed hard on the toe area of my right foot. (and fractured my right knee, which sucks) long story short, they worked. Other than a little swelling and a bruised toe the next day I was A-okay in the foot department. I'm convinced I would've broken my big toe at least if not more had I been wearing a pair of casual shoes.
-They manage a good mix of not too hot, not too cold. I've warn them in 90+ degree heat and in the high 30's and not had a problem with them being too warm or too cold.

So far, so good! Why 3 stars then? Well, after a year (actually more like 10 months, but close enough) of ownership they're pretty well thrashed. The sole is completely warn through to the point that walking in even a light rain results in soaked socks and wet feet, and the leather on the left boot is showing significant wear from the shifter of my bike. As are the toe area of each boot. I wear them a lot but I don't believe I'm overly harsh on my shoes. I don't do a lot of hiking or anything like that, just probably 8-10k miles of riding and walking around a motorcycle dealership sales floor 5 days a week.

For the price point, I'd like to think you'd get more than a year's life out of them, but maybe I'm being unreasonable there? Now I'm considering whether to have them resoled and hope the top/toes of the boots hold out another season, or replace them with something else!

In general though, if you don't plan to use them every day/rack up a lot of miles riding/walking in them you'll probably really like them though!

Excellent Boot For Riding & Walking
This boot is very well made, looks like an old pair of Redwings, and I find them very light and comfortable. A bit snug to pull on but once on the footbed is generous and the toe-box is wide. They scuff and scratch and pick up the metal rub of the bike, but that just adds to the character. They are the kind of leather you can leave a scratch on with your fingernail - think King Ranch or other high grade un-coated leather - not damaged just wear and tear. I've even worn to the office with jeans. I also look for the CE stamp of approval and these have that. Not super breathable but not like an airtight, waterproof boot either. Just a great, simple boot.

Super Comfy Out of Box!
I ordered these shoes because I wanted a decent pair of shoes for my daily commute to the office. I can wear them all day at work without looking like a "moto-dork". On longer rides, I'll stick to my motorcycle boots. However these seem to check the box for short commutes.
They were shipped quickly and they fit me perfectly out of the box. The leather is soft and the style is simple and functional. They are also very comfortable to walk in. This is something you don’t find in most riding boots.
As far as protection goes they may not be the best as compared to other riding boots. However, these were designed to wear with normal “street clothes”. They do have good ankle and toe protection. I would recommend these boots for shorter rides. They look great and are very comfortable too!

Protective & Stylish
I'm a teacher by profession, and I've worn these boots to work even on days where I didn't take the bike to school. They're comfortable even after being on your feet all day, and they look nice enough for semi casual/semi professional workplaces.

They're a little hefty, but no more so than a pair of work boots.

If you're looking for a pair of protective motorcycle boots that you can leave on even when your reach your destination, these are a great option.

Love these boots!
Right when I bought the Monty's, these came out, and I thought they looked more like what I was looking for. I was right, for me, these boots had just the look I was going for. I normally wear an 8, but the 8 for my right foot was just a tiny bit snug, so I went 8 1/2 and the fit is perfect. They're not the easiest boots to get in and out of. It was really frustrating at first, but as they've been getting broken in, they're getting much easier in that department. My only gripe is the high dollar ticket price, but hopefully these will be with me for many riding seasons...

Great Boots
I've had my Oscar Rayburn's for about 2 weeks, and I love the look and feel of these boots. They are a little pricey but the quality is top notch. I love being able to wear my riding boots as everyday shoes if need be.

My first pair of boots and I love them. I was looking for something that I can wear as a casual boot as well as on the motorcycle. These are perfect for just that.

Great looking and comfortable but....
I like most who submitted reviews for this product was looking for a pair of riding boots I could wear riding to work and still use it in the office.

Thsee shoes fit the bill perfectly. Great looks and feels comfortable for all day wear. Good protection on the toes and ankle area.

My only issue is that it is so difficult to get into without loosening up the shoe string to 3 holes. Other than that I love this pair.

Good Compromise
Hey all,
I bought these boots because I commute to school and work and do not want to wear/change into my raceboots. I used to wear my redwings when riding as they offered more protection than standard sneakers, but I still felt unprotected. The difference from these and my redwing moc toes are that there is a thinner sole, and some protection on the toes and heels. They are not as comfortable but offer better feel for shifting and braking. The leather is not as nice and thick as my redwings but they do offer some protection and there are plastic pucks at the ankles underneath the leather. It doesn't feel too sturdy but should offer some protection. I walk around a lot at work and school and they feel ok, not sneaker comfy but as well as my redwings.

TL;DR
I decent compromise between protection and not looking like a ATGATT power ranger. I wear 10.5 in Nikes/VANS and have Dainese Torque RS in 43 and these alpine stars are a 43 as well.

Do these boots make me look too hip?
Good looking boots, though you might be accused for being a "hipster." I wear them all day at work and they are very comfortable. I'll probably get another pair when I wear these out.

I was looking for a casual riding shoe that I could wear in the office or out for the night if I was on the bike. They look great, are very comfortable, and hopefully will provide enough protection should I ever need them. Only downside is they aren't great for long walks.
