Very nice first adventure jacket
My opinion is not worth too much since this is my first adventure style jacket, but here goes. I bought it to be a three season jacket, just as described in Revzilla's video review, but I'm sure I'll be able to wear it during many days in the summer as well. I have ridden it down to 40 degrees without electric heating, and down to 30 (so far) with a heated jacket insert and gloves. It keeps the wind out completely. Very good neck fit and seal. Flexible venting options. I've not yet worn it in the rain but I have no doubt it will keep the rain out. So far I always ride with the thermal layer and the rain layer but I'm sure I will take those out when it gets warmer. The pockets are plentiful and well made.

Be sure to honestly follow the sizing chart. There is no way I am a size XL in anything, but I am in AlpineStar's mind!

Great gear but consider one size larger.
I've had this gear so far for about a month and have ridden in temps ranging between 37 and 92. I have stayed warm when it was cold and had decent ventilation when it was 92. When moving slow, it does get a little warm but once the speed picks up the airflow works great. Haven't had the opportunity to ride in a downpour yet due to the unseasonably warm and dry weather in the Pacific Northwest but in a light shower I stayed completely dry. It also looks great. My only recommendation would be to order one size larger. I am 5'10", 185 and I got a large. It fits well but it will be a little snug if I ever need to layer up underneath.

Great coat runs small
This is a great coat. Quality is top notch but it does run small. I believe it is about a size smaller than it actually is. An xl is a L and a xxl is a xl and so on. Just keep than in mind when you hit that buy button. Happy motoring!

The MSR Enduro Jacket Reboot
Malcom Smith Racing use to make an awesome Enduro Jacket in the late 1980s, which would be considered the epitome of cool and retro today. It was red/blue, 3/4-length, with four big pockets, a high collar, and a zippered vent across the upper back. I had one and loved it. It finally wore out but I always wished someone would recreate it. Alpinestars has done exactly that with this Bogota jacket, but with way more cool features. Like the MSR jacket, the Bogota fits me true, with a nice cut when the waistband is adjusted. It's got the four big pockets, with a large pocket in the rear of the jacket to hold liners and such. It's not sloppy and won't flap in the breeze, and the two liners are going to cover three or maybe three and a half seasons no problem. It exudes tons of style but most important, it's comfortable and very functional. The armor is really good for this kind of jacket, pretty heavy-duty stuff, and the neck comes up nice and high to keep out the wind and rain. That's important.

This is the kind of jacket a rider can use for a lot of different bikes. I just picked up a new Kawasaki Z900, a supernaked, and I see myself using the Bogota a lot for this ride, for the long loops that take me to high elevations and far from civilization. It's gonna work well on the F800GS, too.

I call this a great all-round jacket for not too much dough; commuters will also like it. I am seeing ADV jackets for 1200 bucks and more, but they sure don't give you four times the value. For most riders, the buck can stop right here.

Great all-around jacket!
This is my first all-road touring type jacket and I must say, it's good. I really like it!
First of it looks super cool in my opinion. I have the grey/black/fluorescent yellow version.
I usually wear a size M (Euro 50) and ordered a size Medium for this and it fits just about right, maybe a tad large without the liners installed.
Onto the good points of the jacket i have discovered so far.
It has good airflow, I've ridden in 25°C (~80F) with it (no liners, T-shirt underneath) and I was completely fine. I reckon if you use an appropriate summer base layer with the jacket you can stretch it into the 30°Cs (~90F).
The airflow is not as great as on a fully perforated leather jacket but that is to be expected, nonetheless it cooled my body perfectly so far.
It has plenty of pockets, 4 upfront and at least 1 WP one that I have found on the inside of the jacket.
I can't say anything about the Drystar and thermal liners as I haven't ridden in the rain or cold yet, but they'll probably do the trick just fine.
Since I'm on the topic of the liners now, I'll move on to the not so good points in my mind.
The liners are a bit fiddly to install. I don't like the Velcro through hoop closure, I prefer my dad's Macna jacket which has zippers to install the liners.
The back vent of the jacket is meh, it's just a zipper not a panel and if you wear any sort of backpack you're going to block it.
Lastly, it doesn't come with a back protector of any kind not even a piece of foam. I'm actually kind of shocked that a ~$300 jacket does not come with some kind of back armour. Furthermore the pocket for the back protector isn't that big too, i have about 4 to 5 inches of 'exposed' spine if I install one in that pocket.
All-in-all a great jacket but it's let down by some minor annoyances like the vent and the liner closures.

Great Jacket, all seasons
During the summer, remove the inner liner, keep the vents open and it's a fantastic protective jacket. During cold/winter months, keep that liner in there and you're comfortable. No complaints. Attention to detail is great. Designers really paid attention to rider-feedback on this one. Also, get the CE Certified Back protector insert. Otherwise, what's the point?!

California 4 season jacket!
Bought this in the dead of winter in Kansas. Handled single digit weather at freeway speeds. With the liner I was on the verge of sweating! Had to step up a size from my usual fit and sinch down the straps. Formed to my body really well! I’m a pretty lanky guy and the 2XL sleeves don’t ride up. In the summer/fall I open the vents and the ventilation is fantastic. Don’t notice any hotspotting. Strong durable construction. Every layer has more pockets. Large storage pocket on the lower back is great for gloves and a hat. I have no doubts that this will save me in a crash. God forbid! Just can’t track down matching pants since I bought it on its way out of stock.

Pretty nice Jacket
I got this jacket on sale closeout price so for the price its DA bomb. I'm glad I went a size up normally wear large sometimes XL but got this in XL and its just right. Very warm on cold mornings and put together nicely, seems well thought out. Haven't tried it in rain yet thankfully but I bet I would stay dry. Being big into outdoor sports, seems weird that the waterproof layer is inside but gortex for moto gear seams ridiculously expensive. Overall I'm happy.

Good first Adventure jacket
I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs. The medium fits me perfectly. I upgraded the back protector because the stock foam feels very flimsy.

Really liked the style and the color choices. Also, living in Michigan means that unless you have a "4-season" jacket you aren't riding more than ~3 months a year, June-September. With a true 4-seasoner I can start riding in March/April and carry on into November.

I trust Alpinestars as a brand for its quality, performance and style from my past experiences. The 3 reviews were all quite positive. I adventure ride and cruise on my Harley, so I expect the jacket to work well for both.

Is the thermal liner full sleeved? Is the waterproof liner full sleeved?
Pounrajan Clement L on Sep 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, both the thermal liner and waterproof liners are full sleeve. They install and remove easily.
Does it have a zipper that connects to the pants?
Aleksei P on Feb 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does.
Is this a unisex jacket?
A C on Aug 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yeah it could be used as a unisex jacket but I think the shoulders are broad for a female.
Which back protector fits in this jacket?
A shopper on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wish I knew. Jacket didn't fit and I had to send it back. Looks like it would have been great.
How does it feel in chest? Is it roomy or narrow? I'm 5,9' tall, 169 lbs, but 42'' chest. Size should be "M" considering arm lenght and all, but i'am a bit concerned about chest size.
A shopper on Oct 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It runs a bit small in the chest. Seems to be a size small. I had to send mine back to get the next larger size because of this. Chances are good that you need size L because of this. Great jacket though!
Can I buy a rain liner if I need to replace it? I like the jacket, both the wife and I have one.
A shopper on Oct 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Probably not, but why would it need to be replaced. You could just through a light gortex or rain jacket under it as a replacement.
What is the CE certification level for the elbows and shoulders armor?
