Good air flow but not durable at all
They are very light and have very good air flow. Love the color options to match my bike.

But...

After less than 300 miles of riding with the gloves, the fabric on the side of index fingers on both hands started wearing out due to rubbing against the brake and the clutch levers. Riding gloves shouldn't do that.

What they need is some kind of leather padding around that area to protect the sidewalls fabric.

I would not purchase the gloves again and I will pay more attention to this area more closely next time I buy riding gloves.

Does what it should do
Rode all summer in northeast with these. Broke in nicely, but not too loose. Touchscreen fingertips are great and, most importantly, the ventilation and grip is excellent. Knuckle protection (while important, no doubt) was less of a concern for me than getting a proper fit for hot weather rides to work on a daily basis.

Perfect Summer Gear
The gloves fit perfect and the best part is that they do not bind my hands the way other gloves have. Other gloves have made gripping the throttle very uncomfortable after a short stint. These gloves are perfect for the warmer days of summer.

Great summer gloves, withstood a crash
I crashed my BMW sport tourer on tarmac at around 40 MPH, breaking my ankle in the process and gaining a bunch of road rash, and I didn't have a scratch on my hands. I got the gloves for free from a friend, and I thought they would be worthless in a crash from how mesh-y they are. I guess I was wrong. Thanks Alpinestars! The gloves are still in use today, although the index finger and palm cushion are coming apart and falling off on the left hand, which saddens me.

Very comfortable gloves, I can wear them all day, and usually wear them during work too. I absolutely love love love them. My only complain would be that I wish there was at least some real knuckle protection, rather than the rubber nubs they have on the fingers and knuckles.
Also, riding in cold weather (below 50) sucks in these. They flow lots of air, which is great, but they get super cold in the cold weather.

Overall these are great gloves, not sure if they're exactly worth $70 as at that price point I'd look at some other gloves with a bit more protection and weatherproofing, but the comfortable palm padding, the leather palms and fingers (which work great with smartphones, btw) definitely make these gloves hard to beat if this is what you want. Definitely minimalist gloves, but definitely nice.

great value gloves for summer weathers
overall great gloves for hot rides, MAXIMUM air flow I would defintely recommend. The style and price are contributing factors to a certain purchase for any rider.

One thing to note, the gloves fit a little small - I would suggest buying 1 size up from the Alpinestars measurements guide for gloves.

Great gloves, just be careful.
I just received these gloves and wanted to take the time to point out really only one concern I noticed upon my first use.

Before we get to the cons I should point out a few pros.

I chose these gloves due to one particular point in the description: Extremely flexible. And they are exactly just that. Super light-weight and sexy as heck. The closure if very solid and comfortable. Leather/padding seems to be incorporated well. Everything about the quality and performance of the glove is wonderful.

However I did notice what is, in my personal opinion, a problem to keep an eye on. I was pretty upset upon first putting the gloves on to notice that if any part of the mesh even so much as brushes the velcro it will stick and fray. Since the leather only covers a portion of the finger one must be extremely careful when putting on or taking off the second glove. On an average day I may put on and take off my glove 4,6,8+ times and having to be utterly careful each time is going to be a pain. I've included a picture of the thumb of the glove that just ever so very very slightly touched the velcro when putting the other glove on. With that happening after one slight contact, I hate to say the fingers are going to look pretty fuzzy and frayed after a few months. It doesn't at all affect the performance of the glove but I am not at all exaggerating when I say even the most brief, minimal contact with the velcro and the mesh will attach, and not come off clean.

I should note that it's very likely that this is the case with nearly any mesh constructed glove and doesn't necessarily reflect any poor craftsmanship or performance concerns.

That being said, these gloves are amazingly lightweight and flexible. The protection is minimal/moderate but sufficient for most needs. Absolutely gorgeous styling/construction. In order to keep them this way you must never ever let any part of the mesh come in even the slightest contact with the velcro... or you're gonna have a bad time.

P.S. For fitting. I chose the XL and very glad I didn't go with only large. My local shop says they sell almost all XL in all of their gloves.

Comfortable gloves
I read the review prior to purchasing these gloves and people were saying that they run at least a size small, so I ordered up a size. This was a good piece of advice, because the larger size fit perfectly. I have ridden with these a few times and have been happy with the overall feel of the glove and airflow to keep my hands cool in warmer weather. They look nice too.

All around excellent glove...
I've worn this glove in hot humid weather and I've never noticed my hands being too warm... excellent ventilation. The fingertip feature actually works with my iPhone. Very comfortable and flexible. I would definitely but this glove again.
I wear a large and I purchased a large. It does run a bit small but I prefer a snug fit. Once they broke in the fit was perfect.

A great summer weight glove
I wanted a go-to 2.5 season glove, which frankly is most of the riding I do here in Ohio. I had three must-haves: comfortable fit (I have wide hands and have made mistakes buying narrow gloves), great airflow for 65 F & up temperature, and touch screen capability for music & nav on an iPhone.

These Atacamas are outstanding at the first two criteria, and solid on the third. On fit, given the comments & review I went a size larger than normal, and I'm glad I did. The XXL is actually perfect for me. On airflow, frankly it doesn't get any better than this. So once temps get down below 60F, these gloves will not be warm enough. I rode this past weekend on sunny but windy 58F day and had to use the grip heaters. Above that temp, these gloves are the best.

Finally, the touchscreen functionality is good, and I seem to be more precise with these than my Icon touch gloves, but since the tip of the glove is away from the tip of your finger a bit, there is just some imprecision which is probably there to some degree with any touch glove. So I'm not sure I can knock the Atacamas too hard for that. Overall, very pleased.

Will be taking MSF classes in the next couple of weeks, this has caught my eye because, you obviously need gloves to protect your hand and fingers from blisters or burns. Yet it's still the bang for the buck. But, I would like to get some more information on better/recommended non-pricey gears.

As a back up pair, since my current Rukka Saturn gloves (which I love) are no longer available....i found that it is prudent to have a couple of pairs of gloves, in case a pair gets soaked in a rain storm like mine did. The reviews of this glove were awesome and the glove resembled the Rukka gloves that I already own.
