On the bike or for every day
I really wanted something I could wear while riding to my destination and when I hopped off. I had been exploring leather jackets for a while (Schott and RSD) and when I came across AGV's version of the classic leather motorcycle jacket I had to try it out. First of all can't argue with price and the pictures don't do it justice...at all. The color is great, my only gripe would be if it were darker brown, maybe AGV will have that option in their Fall line-up. I suppose you could always stain it but risky. The jacket smells great and wears very comfortable out of the box. As soon as it cools off I plan on wearing it everyday. I think it runs a little small, especially since you'll most likely be wearing a long sleeve underneath. I'm 5''11 with broad shoulders, almost 46 in chest, 34 in waist but had to exchange for an XL after trying the L, fits like tailor made. Armor can be easily enough removed so you don't look too hulking but I really don't think it looks that bad walking around the town. I cannot stress the price point enough, you'll be paying closer to $600 for a jacket that's not as good and doesn't include armor, and is really of motorcycle styling but not meant for taking a spill. Everything about the jacket plays the part, right down to the antique finish in the grippy brass YKK zippers! AGV is def. on my radar for future jackets.

Awesome Jacket for an Awesome Price
First of all, the photos online of this jacket certainly do not do it justice. The jacket doesn't have that fake-distressed look as it does in the photos and looks so great that if it weren't for the pads, I would wear it out to dinner (well, I still might, even with the pads). The size is right on with most other jacket manufacturers and it feels great once you throw it on. I've ridden a few miles with it so far and the air flow is great along with the comfort in the riding position. I've experienced no chaffing around the neck or wrists, all of the zippers work flawlessly and do not catch on any material. There are two pockets on the inside big enough for today's obese smart phones and fat wallets along with two good sized zippered-pockets on the outside for other trinkets or to warm your hands at a stop light. The shoulder, back, and elbow/forearm pads are placed appropriately and definitely give me more confidence if I ever dumped the bike. The stitching, velcro around the wrists, and zippers all seem to be of great quality as well. Overall, this jacket is a great buy and there is absolutely nothing that has disappointed me.

Comforting and comfortable
I wanted a jacket less ostentatious than my Alpinestars Stunt, and with vents that can be closed. This fits the bill nicely. First MC jacket I've owned that feels right after I get off the bike and walk into the restaurant.

I chose this jacket for the first review at the Kindly Gentlemen Motorcycle Club blog. There I noted my two and a half gripes: It's not designed for us overweight guys, which is hardly the jacket's fault. And I assure you that is not the smell of leather, but the smell of a chemical factory that has consistently failed its EPA inspections. Oh, and calling it "brown" is a stretch. None of these matter, because it is both comforting and comfortable on the bike, and understatedly stylish off the bike. Just what I wanted.

Great Jacket!!
So I was looking around for quite some time online between multiple types of jackets, wondering what type would be the best fit. This jacket fits great. I'm like 5'9'' 195 (so a little gut), but fits. Close fit to the stomach but does fit. It's a little on the short side, and doesn't cover you lower back when in a full tuck. I would say it's very warm. I've been driving in 40 degrees and it does the trick. The vents when open do vent nicely. I think in the summer on road trips, it'll be perfect, but in town riding may be a little warm. The only thing I didn't like was the length of the jacket, or the fact it doesn't have the extended fabric over the lower back. Other than that totally worth every penny.

Great leather jacket!
This leather jacket looks good and stylish. I have gotten many compliment. The protections feel solid and hopefully I will not have to test it out. None my friends realized that there are pads so that is a plus.

Fit wise, it fits athletically. The shoulders are wide and the waist skinny. Not just fit but skinny. Compared to a Dainese jacket, it tapered more.

For reference: I'm 5"9', 180lbs and around 41" chest, 32" waist.
- AGV size M fits me perfectly all around so you can get a sense that it is quite tapered.
- Dainese size 52 fits well but waist is not as slim.

Best Brown Leather Jacket Available!
This jacket is beautiful. It's made with a fairly thick but supple leather, and the distressing is not overdone. The colour is a tad on the grey side of brown, but some oil or treatment will reveal a beautiful deep brown.

It fits great but will need some breaking in, as the joints are slightly stiff.

The cuffs were very stiff, but after some time spent working the cuffs while I watched a movie, they felt softer and more comfortable while wearing.

Overall this is simply the single best brown leather motorcycle jacket available. The cost is bang on, it has armour, unlike the majority of other brown leather jackets on the market, and it's style is both modern and classic.

Excellent Jacket
May be the coolest jacket I ever had. Very good leather. Sport fit with old shool look, best of both worlds. I went from Miami to Daytona at 50-60 degrees and was enough.
5 10 ft, 185 lbs, athletic build, 43 in chest, 35 in waist, and large runs perfect, a little tight but thats the way I like it, as tight as the guy on video. Too tight for two layers under, enogh for only one. It smels like a cow !.
I received lots of compliments. Pefect for cafe racer look.

Great value; actually a steal at the price.
Very well made with what looks and feels like thick, high grade leather. The air vents are plentiful though probably won't do the job during the hot Texas summer. The color is nice out of the box but I put waterproofing (with beeswax) on the jacket and it darkened it to a beautiful chocolate brown color. The ce armor seems it will be very protective though thankfully I haven't had to test that out yet. The fit if perfect for me with the large size providing a comfortable fit with some slight extra room for layering. However, It may be a little tight around the mid-section for people with large stomachs. The zippers slide easily. Without the armor in it could probably be worn as a regular jacket because the styling is quite nice.

Solid jacket, especially for the price
I love the cut and style of this jacket, and the fact that it has at minimum double-stitched seams and all-brass zippers makes it feel like it'll actually hold up. I got a Forcefield back protector to upgrade the placeholder EVA foam one, and I love the quality and comfort of the included CE elbow and shoulder armor.
The distressed finish is really tasteful, and the product photos don't do it justice. I put some leather conditioner on it, which darkened the finish and took down the patina some, but I'm sure it'll return with wear and use.
My biggest and possibly only gripe is that since I got a small for my skinny chest size, the sleeves are a mite short. That said, it fits true-to-size for an average small.

Great, sharp-looking jacket
Bought this jacket so I could ride comfortably in the fall and spring and then just hop off my bike and look normal around town. It's perfect for me in coolish to warm weather-- from about 45 to 75. With a bunch of layers you could take it down further. High quality leather (and it smells strongly) and great style on and off the bike. Highly recommend it. I got a size small (I'm about 5'11" and 160) and fits me more snugly than I would like.

In fact, if anyone out there buys a medium that is too big-- comment on this review and we can arrange a swap. My small is in perfect condition.

It's a high quality leather jacket with good protection that doesn't look like every other Harley jacket on the road.
Jack G on Apr 27, 2016
Excellent Jacket as others have mentioned it runs small. I am 5'11 240 needed to get a 3X I am built a bit like a barrel. Find best temperature range for this jacket is between 50F - 80F gets cold below and hot above. Like the shape and the fit its nice having a motorcycle jacket you can wear out and not look like a power ranger.
Jeremy W on Apr 15, 2016

I am 5' 11.5" and 208 pounds. My waist is 39 inches. What size do I need on AGV Sport Men's Leather Jacket?
A shopper on May 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would go with an extra large. I am 5' 7" 175 and have extremely wide shoulders (44S coat size for reference) and a large makes it just past my belt buckle. With your height and XL should do well.
does this jacket have armor in the shoulders and elbows?
A shopper on Jan 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it has D30 Armor in the shoulders and elbows
Can anyone recommend a replacement back protector that fits?
A shopper on Oct 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes, Forcefield Armor. Only one choice, it is the best.
Hi,The sizing chart shows what appears to be european sizes (ie 40, 42, 44, 46 etc) but your order drop down box has sizes small, meduim large etc. How to you correlate the number sizes to small medium large etc ?
Neil H on Sep 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I emailed Revzilla and they gave me good advice I ignored, so now I have a too-tight jacket. Just contact them with your usual jacket size and they'll let you know whether to get a S/M/L/XL etc.
Is this jacket too warm for summer ? I live in LA & will be riding mostly on freeways between 10-12 pm & after 6 pm,basically commuting to work.
A shopper on Apr 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I live in Charlotte, NC, where the temperature and humidity in the summer can be pretty unbearable. I wouldn't wear this particular jacket in the heat of the summer here -- a fully ventilated mesh jacket is my choice, especially in stop and go traffic.

However, I have worn this comfortably up into the low 80 degree weather. With the zipper vents open, and with the motorcycle moving, it cools really well.

Hope this helps.
Does this product have any foam or rubber back protection, or a pocket to add back protection?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: It comes with a foam protector that can be easily upgraded.
Where is this jacket made?
A shopper on Feb 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The AGV Sport Element Vintage Leather Jacket is made in Pakistan.
