I spent most of my time in middle school library looking at dirt bike magazines and watching Supercross on TV. My parents could only handle me badgering them for so long before they had to give in and buy me a four wheeler and dirtbike. Four wheels came first, but there was an obsession for a two-wheeled motorized bike.

It sounds crazy, but picture a bicycle with a chainsaw...

I drew up ideas for a bicycle that was powered by a chainsaw. It sounds crazy, but picture a bicycle with a chainsaw sitting on a bike carrier connected to the back wheel. Any kid would rule the neighborhood on one of those. I wasn’t engine-savvy enough to pull it off, so I did the smart thing and bought a YZ125. We had 14 acres of property with a huge field next to the house, and with the help of a Bobcat, I leveled the field and put in an oval track with a few jumps. Surprisingly, I managed to not break any bones.

It doesn’t take long working at RevZilla before you find the need for a new bike.

I did some stupid things when I was younger (like trying a backflip on skis). I didn’t think about the negative effects of jumping my car over a bridge. Although I didn’t get in an accident, my car bottomed out when I landed on the other end of the bridge. I put a hole in the oil pan and all the oil drained out causing the engine bearings to seize. I needed to come up with money to fix my car, and unfortunately that meant selling my dirt bike.

It doesn’t take long working at RevZilla before you find the need for a new bike. It’s like an itch that needs to be scratched. After seeing product after product, day after day, I made the move and bought a YZF600R. It’s not the coolest or the fastest thing with two wheels, but I was on a wedding budget and it does the job. The rest is history!
