Happy with the Pants

By Brock N. on December 01, 2009
Sizing:
Fits true to size
Pros:
Comfortable and Rugged
Cons:
Comments:

I wear a 38 waist 30 inseam and got the XL short. They fit very well. The pants are comfortable, and very adjustable which is a plus. I rode without the liner in at about 50 degrees and my legs were not cold. So far I am really happy with these pants, hoping I never get a chance to test the armor or abrasion resistance.

Comfortable if complicated.

By John S. From SCOTTSDALE, AZ on June 08, 2009
Sizing:
Fits true to size
Pros:
Comfortable, Rugged, and Great Value
Cons:
Comments:

I like the all-in-one nature for cool-running, cool mornings, and cold, wet conditions. I'm just not sure how willing I'm going to be switch out the components when they're needed.

Versatile and comfortable

By Brian From NY, NY on March 17, 2009
Sizing:
Fits 1 size larger
Pros:
Comfortable and Great Value
Cons:
Comments:

I had read reviews on other sites stating that if these were to be worn as overpants, one should order a size larger than normal pants. Like the review above, I have a 38 waist and 29/30 inseam. I ordered both the XL/Short and the 2XL/Short, ended up keeping the XL/Short. Moral of the story? You can probably get away with the same size as your regular pants. (This size test was over a pair of baggy jeans).

As for features, the thermal liner and wind/waterproof liner make these a great pair of commuter pants.

great versitile pants

By Gary A. From HONOLULU, HI on January 05, 2009
Sizing:
Fits 2 sizes larger
Pros:
Comfortable, Rugged, and Great Value
Cons:
Comments:

i have a 38.5 waist and a 30 inseam. according to the chart, i bought an XXL short. when i got them, they looked like clown pants. they were really huge. i returned them for a L short and that fit much better. the waist is elastic, plus it has velcro tabs, so there is a lot of adjustment. the pants feel very durable. you can remove the inner thermal lining, the inner waterproof/windproof lining, and also an outer shell lining so they can adapt to a wide range of situations. i removed all 3 linings and they are extremely comfortable for day riding. i got caught in a heavy rain without the 3 linings and i still stayed dry. the reflective side piping works well.

only con is that the knee pads are still a tad bit low even after adjusting to the highest setting. i think in a crash, they would still do their job though.
