Comfortable, Fashionable, Rugged, Great Value

This jacket is the best I've bought to date! The venting is exceptional, and even works a little too well on those cooler mornings. The full sleeve liner is a nice touch, adding windproof warmth, although I bought this at springtime, and didn't have the opportunity to test it during the harsh, So Cal winter... ;) The leather itself is already soft and very pliable, with a great cut and design. It tends to fit a little more loosely than the same-size, old Teknic Chicane jacket I still use (since 2004), as the size 40 must also accomodate the thick liner. Without the liner, the jacket tends to feel like a more loose-cut jacket which doesn't fit as closely to the body as I'd like. Not that I need a skin-tight feel, but I prefer not having leathers flap in the wind, or feel loose. The full circum. zipper works well with my Chicane leather pants, although there is a somewhat noticeable contrast between the smoother, more glossy look of my Violator's black leather (on the blu/blk jacket) vs the flat black leather of the Chicane pants. The snap on the collar is a nice touch, as my old Chicane jacket relied on velcro to stay closed... the velcro is pretty worn out and doesn't stay fastened if I do anything like look down at my feet. Fortunately, I don't have too much of a jock-neck, as there is no adjustability with the snap closure on the collar. Overall construction/seams/etc, are blemish-free. I found only one small threading beginning to unravel at the left side velcro waist-cinch strap. Or more precisely, at the seam on the left side which is covered up by the cinch strap. Minor, and the only concern on an otherwise carefully executed sewing job. The jacket itself is nicely symmetrical on both sides; something I tend to notice on products with complicated detailing like a m/c jacket with multiple layers and colors. In other words, laid flat and inspected, the design elements/seams/features, etc are lined up and match left and right, top to bottom. This jacket was something I wanted the moment I saw it (especially in the blk/silv), but unfortunately, was just a little too expensive to warrant a persuasive argument with the wife. At RevZilla's killer close-out pricing, it was impossible to pass up! I settled on the blu/blk as a second choice, and feel glad I didn't go with the wht/red! The minimal amount of white on the blu/blk is hard enough to keep white with the amount of pollution in the Southern California air. I tend to prefer leather over textiles, but have to admit that the labor involved in keeping leather clean and supple can be bothersome. White leather is too much work even for a committed nut-case like myself. If you're considering a high-quality leather jacket, you've got a great steal with this close-out 2007 Violator. The 2008 Violator is a step back in style, in my opinion. This is absolutely the best jacket I've ever purchased, and at this price, I smile knowing that patience paid off!
