Like a couple of the other reviews, my 5-star rating is biased a little by the close-out price, but I would still give it at least a 4-star rating (4.5 if it were possible). The jacket is solidly constructed, durable, well stitched, built to last. Armor is in pockets outside the sleeve, which allows you to get your arms down the sleeves, even with multiple layers, without getting caught up and bound on internal pockets. Teknic thought of everything, the removable collar is great for colder or rainy weather, there are tons of pockets everywhere, good airflow on the chest, and sleeves as well as a large back vent, plenty of adjustability, cuffs cinch down small and tight.
There are just a couple of minor niggles, that are easy to overlook at the closeout price. The main zipper, as mentioned in other reviews, could be a little thicker/heavier. Also mentioned in a couple of other reviews is that the jacket has long arms. If you are a person with short arms, you may want to avoid this jacket. I also own a First Gear Kilimanjaro in a Long size. The sleeves on this jacket are longer still. You can cinch them down above the wrist, but it is something to be aware of. Also the jacket can be a little thick with the Alumafoil liner in. The stuff keeps you warm, but it is fairly thick. As a result the jacket may fit a little more snug than expected. This is likely by design, the Alumifoil likely works better when closer to the body, but be aware of it. With the liner out, there is plenty of room.
On last niggle, not Teknic's fault. The description says that the Teknic logos are reflective. I have not found this to be the case with mine. What *is* reflective is the piping and along the back, and all of the waterproof zipper garages. I am not sure if there has been some changes made to the jacket since the video was made, or if it is simply an error.

I bought this jacket for protection, visibility, style, and to be waterproof. On my first trip it was 29 degrees and then started to rain lightly at 37 degrees. You could hear the rain bounce off the fabric like a metal roof. I was completely warm and dry. I ride a BMW with windshield so I am also protected from full exposure. If the material continues to be waterproof I will be completely satisfied. It doesn't vent much air but I bought it as a winter jacket and I'm sure if you're riding a naked bike that it would vent much better.

This jacket is awesome, i had it out last night in the cold while it was very blustery and couldn't have been more comfortable. The neckie removable collar is nice but i found myself taking it off after a while because i kept noticing it. In the bitter cold though this jacket is a solid performer. hopefully the same can be said once it warms up and i can remove the space blanket liner. Even though it was cold out I also opened the vents for a few blocks just to see how it would flow... this should be a good jacket in the summer as well.
I got the hi-viz... and wow it is really hi-viz. Armor doesn't move around or shift too much, I might have kinda short arms cause even though I wear a 48, the sleeves are a bit on the long side, but that's pretty much all my jackets so not really anything to worry about.
Bought the jacket on closeout, had my eye on it well before then, but even still for the price this is a lot of jacket, pockets and vents everywhere. My only real complaint is the back pocket on the jacket is almost impossible to get to with the jacket on. I also have a feeling the back pad could cover a bit more room, but I really hope I never have to test that one out :p.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I live in Brisbane australia and this jacket feels great to wear even on a hot day. The special waterproof lining feels nice to wear and wicks moisture away form the body. These jacket comes with so many pockets and they are all very functional. I would highly recommend this to any commuter.

First I have to say, I bought this on a closeout so I base my value on the price as well. Even at full price it's a four star jacket. My only complaints are size, which I didn't have much choice on the closeout, but even though it's a bit large on the sleeves, the chest area is a bit tight on the top. As will most jackets when I take out the liner, the elbow armor rolls a bit on my arm because it's a bit loose.
This was a size 48 and I'm 5'11, 200lbs. I might have been able to get a better fit on the 46, but then the chest might be too tight. Then again, with the back armor out, maybe perfect. Hard to say when you're buying online and can't try them on the spot.
Often I buy jackets for particular bikes, and this one is for my new Vmax. I decided to buy something more practical for commuting and general use but still have some protection in case of a crash or from the elements. The material and design of this brand is superb, it's an A+ construction. I will be looking at other jackets from this brand too. Is it Warm? Well, its winter here so I'm not riding, but I had a chance to use it on a sled.
It's warm enough for winter use, so I have no worries about early spring and fall in northern Illinois.
All in all I'm happy with this jacket and this is someone who owns about 7 other motorcycle jackets. I don't think its a good summer jacket. Good venting, but its heavy and bulky. For summer I will stick with my SPIDI multi-tech and SPIDI Rain cover.
You can buy that here too!

My wife teases me because I spend all of my allowance on boots and jackets. Granted, they are all motorcycle gear, but she still gives me grief. So, I have a lot of stuff, and this jacket is by far my favorite piece of gear. It's very warm, waterproof, comfortable, very protective, and I look like a freakin death trooper in it. I got rear ended last week, and I bounced off the ground. It wasn't anything serious, but a lesser jacket would have been scratched or torn. This beast took it without a scratch! I would highly recommend this jacket for three out of the four cooler seasons. I've ridden it in mid-30's weather at 100mph, and I'm toasty when I get to where I'm going. If you're sitting on the fence about this one, get off the fence and buy it! It's worth the money for sure.

I wanted a jacket providing warmth/ventilation, visibility and serious armor all at once. This one delivers. I am 6'4", 205lbs, and the size 46 fits really well. Very long sleeves, which is a relief for tall people like me. Undoubtedly a very high quality construction all around, you get what what you pay for.
The vents work very well. When they are open, it creates a very noticeable increase in air resistance, but you can't have your cake and eat it, too. The liner is somewhat bulky and rigid, yet easy to remove. My only issues are that the back armor doesn't go low enough (I am complementing with a hard-paneled lower spine protector belt worn underneath), and the collar is not soft enough to the neck.
Yes, I recommend this product.
