If your eyes get dry while riding this makes a HUGE difference.
I had previously owned 2 helmets over the last year. The first one was a cheap HJC helmet which didn't have the curtain option. The second one is a Bell Star Rally helmet which had one and was very useful. The current x12 I own is the best of the I own.

I had gotten LASIK last year and my eyes are very sensitive to wind and this makes a huge difference when I'm riding on the Hwys.

Great saviour from bugs / flies / moths
Bought this item to go with my Shoei Qwest Overt Helmet (since it didn't come as standard with the stock helmet). Fit is hassle-free, and when combined with a balaclava for long distance or highway riding, it delivers spot on to keep me free from bugs / flies / moths. A must have from Shoei for a steal price.

So much better with this.
Let me be honest, Shoei rf1200 should had came with this already built on. Why it doesn't? I am not sure, maybe its so we can replace/wash it.

It is so much better with than without. It is quieter, less debris dust and bugs getting in. It blocks windnoise, however I wear ear plugs, it did drop the wind noise/pressure a lot. Totally worth it.

Helmet chin wind guard
This is for shoei helmets and I own an arai. I wanted more wind protection for my helmet which arai did it offer. I was on one of the thumper forums and found that someone else used this product. I ordered it ( great price) and received it quickly. Fit my helmet like a charm. Works great. I will certainly will enjoy with the fall months coming. Thanks revzilla.

Works with Arai helmets
I installed this on my Vector 2 to keep wind from blowing up in the helmet and drying out my contacts while riding. It works well even though it's made by Shoei. You can pull the soft fabric chin lip that comes with your Arai and slide this in its place. So far it stays in place without adhesive but it is possible to use a little glue if I need to.

As a prototype. I'm trying to figure out how to make a chin curtain for my J-Cruse helmet. It's the wind noise and the rain coming up from the gas tank I'm trying to block. There is no chin curtain for an open face helmet with a full face shield. There ought to be.

I bought the chin curtain to complete the accessory requirement for my shoei qwest hi-viz helmet and I'm glad I did that. This piece is a clear savior especially during the dawn / dusk period for us here in India when the onset of flies, mosquitoes and moths goes up. This along with a balaclava serves me perfect for my long rides absolutely hassle-free.

Paul S on Aug 28, 2016
Came with my Shoei RF-1200 in the box, but the directions are poor on installation. Never seen one on, so no idea where it goes. I could only install it around the face as you look through the shield. Don't think that's right. Wouldn't make sense to cal it a chin curtain then! Any videos on installing?
Chuck L on Sep 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This chin curtain goes into the bottom edge of the helmet shell and blocks the gap between the helmet and your neck.

The plastic outer edge (not shown as the item photo shows the bottom of the item) goes between the bottom edge of the helmet and the liner. When you put the helmet on, the small semicircle goes against your neck. Once installed and you are wearing the helmet normally, the chin curtain is parallel to the ground.

I don't think I can attach photos.

The item works nicely blocking wind noise and cold air.
