A shopper asked:I have a Shoei X12 in Large, and want to make it a bit more snug for the track as slides down on my forehead at times. I replaced the cheek pads with slightly larger but which size center liner would make the fit a bit more snug?
william b:I believe so. I used an L liner in a XXL shoei x-12 to come up with a xl size interior. The helmet fits great now, very snug and i did not change cheek pads. I am not 100% sure about Shoei but i believe that small and a medium are the same shell. I would pull out the small head liner and try helmet on without a liner to determine if there is enough room for the med liner. Before you do anything you should find out how shoei sizes it shells. If small and med are the same shell it will work however if x-small and small share the same shell you are probably out of luck on making it a med. Hope this helps.Feb 7, 2014
eric b:No the different thicknesses in padding are only to make up for minor deviations in rider's skeletal structure to provide a consistent comfortable fit. If the helmet structure is the wrong size it will not properly protect a person in an impact.Feb 6, 2014
