I am interested in a replacement shield for my RF-R helmet. Will the gold work at night? Is there a clear shield available?

Answer:
Although it will probably work, it will more than likely not be legal for on-road use. Clear lenses cut down light transmittance and just pass the minimum requirement at night. The pinlock system is not lawful to use at night in most areas even though it is clear and I can see perfectly through it. You'd have to be doing something else wrong to even get cited for it, but a light transmittance meter can be placed over the shield. Whoever would do it is beyond me, but it is in the books.
