Quality, comfort, styling and function make this worth the price. Other helmets may be cheaper in comparison most suffer in over all quality.
Pros:
1.) Comfortable to wear all day long
2.) Lots of padding (see note about fit)
3.) Levers are solid and work well with winter gloves
4.) Shield is easily removed
5.) Visor seals keep the rain out even during heavy down pours
6.) Good visibility
7.) Glasses fit. Also works with Sunax visor sunshields
8.) Works with Cardo Scala Rider G4
9.) Shield Lock mechanism that serves duel function of lock or “crack” open good for extra ventilation
Cons:
1) No sun-shield
2) Solid colors only! No graphics?!
3) Noisy (see notes)
4) Chin guard flips up however it doesn’t flip out of the way of air stream causing drag (obvious). On hot days when you would want a three quarter style helmet, the chin guard and visor requires tools and time to be removed.
Notes:
A key to getting the correct fit are the cheek pads. Get the correct size to fit your face.
With my current set up on a Yamaha FJR with a long windshield I get a lot of wind noise around the shield and chin guard pivot areas. This could be unique to my current configuration. However with the windshield fully extended the helmet is quiet.
Also note, without a windshield the wind noise is tolerable and mostly in the moderate range. This is in comparison of a cheaper non-modular helmet.
Yes, I love this helmet and have enjoyed putting well over 20,000 miles on it. The Multitec has set the standard for me to compare all modular and full face helmets.

This is a great helmet, excellent fit and finish, smooth operation of flip-up. If they would include internal sun shield and removable liner...this would be very, very hard to beat even for Schuberth and BMW System 6.

Initially tried the large but was way too small. RevZilla quickly swapped for an XL which fits great (if a slightly on the large size). Everything already written about this great helmet is true. One downside is lens fogging in cold weather. Went for a ride yesterday in 44 degrees a fogging was a huge problem. You have to lift or crack the visor at stop lights in order to have clear enough vision to be safe. I have ordered the Pinlock system (replacement visor plus Pinlock lens) which, apparently is the answers. However adding another $60 to an already very pricey helmet makes this an expensive purchase.

I bought this to replace my crashed-in Shoei Qwest. I've never owned a modular before so I wanted to try one out. The latching mechanism is ridiculously easy to operate, as smooth as silk with virtually no effort needed to lift or drop. Having a modular helmet makes it easy to maneuver the bike at low speeds in parking areas and to put your gear on and take it off without removing your helmet, a bigger convenience than I anticipated.
One significant difference between the Multitec and my Qwest is that the back latch of my Scala headset would not slide between the shell of the helmet and the lining, so I had to use the adhesive pad. Also, because of the latching mechanism I had to mount the headset further back. And as with all Shoei helmets, since only the cheeckpads are removeable, the wires can't be fully routed underneath the lining so you are going to feel them when you put the helmet on. Finally, I believe that having the wires get stressed by being loose inside the helmet contributed to the early failure of one of the earpieces while in my Qwest.
The helmet's noise profile isn't louder than the Qwest, but it is different. Wind noise is a little higher pitched in the Multitec than the Qwest, but not annoyingly so.
Overall, a highly recommended helmet, with Shoei quality and durability. By the way, I sent my Qwest back to Shoei for a free post-crash inspection, and it passed inspection so it's still a safe helmet to use. When I think of those who will buy a new helmet after dropping it in their garage, that kind of customer service has big value. You pay a little more for Shoei, but it's worth it.
