Great helmet for the price. Now that the price is right on these helmets, it is a good bargain. Shoei have high quality helmets, and this flip up will not let you down. The only thing that is different between Multitec and the Neotec really is the sunshade. I wrote 5000 miles to Stugis and back, in the middle of the summer on a Goldwing without any problems. Typical Shoei sizing. I'm an XL with all Shoeis and most other major brands. February 24, 2014
Great replacement for my old helmet. This is clearly an upgrade from my old helmet, which was heavy and also too big for me. The fit is good, and the size is correct, although after an hour or 2 I get a slight headache. The headache goes away as soon as I take off the helmet. It must put a bit too much pressure somewhere. A bigger size would be too big. The helmet is much lighter than the old one and just seems better quality all around. December 9, 2013
Best Modular Value on the Market! Protect your head in Shoei fashion. I normally wear size LRG, however in this modular I had to purchase a MED. The helmet is very comfortable with no hot spots. Great visibility though it doesn't come with a pin-lock shield. No interior sun visor, but when there is sun I like to wear my own shades. Interior liner easily accommodates sunglass arms and the liner is easy to clean. Top intake has decent air flow, but lacks sufficient rear exit ports. Doesn't matter...it's a modular helmet...flip it up when you desire. Paint quality is very good, but not excellent. Protection is as good as it gets in the modular arena. It's definitely worth buying over other modulars and at Revzilla's price of $299.69 you can't go wrong! October 14, 2013
Love this helmet! I've been using it for the last 2 months and I really like how visible the brilliant yellow is. The Modular style is great here in Florida where it's super hot, you get relief from the heat inside the helmet. I feel like it's pretty quiet going 70+, no whistling. October 11, 2013
Great Helmet Perfect for round head users. Matte color gets dirty too easy. October 7, 2013
Great deal on sale. This is the first modular helmet I have purchased in the last seven years. It's also the first Shoei I have ever owned. I purchased this at the Philly showroom so I could be sure of a proper fit. Love the fit but it is noisy when comparing it to a full face Arai helmet. I love the convenience of lifting it up for pumping gas and checking directions. Helmet and shield release work well. Great Fit. September 16, 2013
Great Helmet This is my first helmet and I'm loving it. I feel like it might be a tad too small because when I wear it for prolonged periods of time (more than an hour), there's a spot on my forehead that rubs and gets irritated, but that just might be the shape of my head. The fitting video on this site does a good job at showing you how to measure for a helmet. I got fitted at my local shop and when they didn't have the multitech, I went here and watched the video, did my own measurements and came up with the same size. I love that I don't have to take this helmet off to talk to people, take a drink during a break, or anything like that. It's very convenient. I don't notice any noise that bothers me. It doesn't seem loud when I'm riding. My vision is good--as good as it is in another full-face helmet. I recommend this helmet. September 16, 2013

Adam M: features and price both winners from a solid brand. extremely pleased with this purchase while riding and during a low side. trust it with my life. looking at the 1200 as a next helmet, not a replacement. Feb 14, 2014

Keith E: Own a silver Multitec that is 5 years old. Time to replace while these are still available! Sep 8, 2013
Tom W: Shoei quality is worth the difference in price to me. The fit and materials used are noticeably better than the less expensive helmets I have owned. Incredible helmet for $300. Cost $434 when it first came out. The Neotec is obviously the nicest Shoei modular now but I can buy two Multitecs (his & her) for the price of one Neotec. Aug 30, 2013
Joseph W: I wanted a modular helmet and was looking at other brands. Two friends recommended Shoei helmets. One had a serious motorcycle accident and said his Shoei helmet performed outstandingly. Aug 9, 2013

Curt P: Hello,
I can not answer your size question specifically other than to say the size seems to run true. I wear a men's
extra large and it fits well. It is a nice looking helmet and would look good on anyone regardless of gender.
I like the modular feature alot, this being my first one. My only two minor complaints are not quite enough visor ventilation in cold weather. I have to open mine one click. Also, the headliner foam pulled on my hair which I keep shorter and would cause some discomfort after awhile. I solved this by using a do-rag. I have always owned Shoei helmets, they are very well made. Good luck!

rommel i: hello there...

shoei helmets are usually true-to-fit....
if your GF is using size small, you shoudl order small

also, this helmet is unisex... it will look good in both
male or female...

yellow color would be very good looking.... very visible...

i wish this helps...

Gary R: My wife and I purchase two Shoei Modular helmets using the sizing information on the web site. Both helmets fit us perfectly. The are snug initially but break in with use. We have worn these traveling 6 to 8 hour per day and are very happy with them. Dec 16, 2013

A shopper asked: This model DOESN'T have internal visor?! Jan 3, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: That is correct! The Shoei Multitec Modular Helmet does not have an internal drop down sun visor. If you're looking for a helmet with an internal drop down sun visor check out the Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet. Jan 3, 2013

Jefferson: The Neo-tech is the Shoei with the internal visor. It is the model that is replacing the Multi-tech. May 28, 2013

Siimersonwheels: No internal visor, but lots of room for sunglasses. Much higher build quality than nolan, hjc etc. Jan 7, 2013

A shopper asked: Looks like the unit needs to be installed a little far back for the length of the mic boom? Feb 2, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: I've used the Sena on a Multitec before and can tell you that it can be done without much trouble. The boom does need to be mounted slightly further back so it clears the modular portion of the helmet. However, when you flex the boom into position, it can rest cleanly under the flip-face portion so you can operate it smoothly regardless of whether the chinbar is up or down. The only other problem is wire management, which takes a bit of finagling to get around the neck roll. I used my Sena for several months on my Multitec without any trouble. Once you put in the time investment to install the unit, it works quite well.

aarrrrgggg: The base unit with boom mike will just barely fit. Due to the exterior shape of the helmet there is only one spot (below & just slightly forward of the face shield pivot) that will work. While not providing 100% contact with the exterior of the helmet I have had no issues with the install. May 13, 2013
