Shoei CX-1V Pinlock Lens Insert
Fog Free Lens
Great product and works as advertised. Only draw back is on the Shoei RF1000 the lens will not cover entire shield, so tuck position is difficult because the top portion of the shield will start to fog where the lens doesn't cover. Also, the top edge of the lens sometimes will get into your field of vision and you must adjust your riding position to much more upright or try to tilt your helmet back a little. Get the clear lens first. Two minor drawbacks for a lens that gives completely fog free riding.

Finally, something that really eliminates fogging
I bought the Pinlock shield and lens insert together back in Oct. '13. That ended the ridiculous fogging problem on my RF1000 to the point of now being able to sit at long traffic signals in temps around freezing and keep the face shield completely closed. Not having to leave the shield open a crack until I get rolling when it's really cold out is a big plus too.
I don't have any problems with the lens not covering the entire shield and for me, it easy to install it without getting smudges all over it.

Works OK but not great
The pinlock does work to reduce the amount of fogging. But...it is best if you put the helmet on and close the shield in a warmer area, then go outside. Otherwise it takes a long time for the inside of the shield to warm up enough to not fog.
And, you can still fog the shield in very cold and humid conditions.
It is a hundred times better than the bare shield so is still worth it. Beware as it does reduce the field of view significant;y.
I just wish someone would make face shields like they do skiing goggles, ie, double layer.

This works! No fog! (Treat it gently!)
I have previously used the generic anti-fog inserts that attach with adhesive, and was somewhat skeptical that this would be better (would it be worth the extra $?) I needed to replace my shield anyway, so I took a chance and went with the Pinlock lens and insert. WORTH IT!! Better than the universal inserts for three reasons: 1) no adhesive so it's easy to take out and put back in multiple times; 2) it's firmer plastic than the universal one I have used (Fog City), which is barely thicker than plastic polyethylene sheeting. 3) it's REALLY clear. It is still "delicate" -- softer plastic than the face shield, so needs to be cleaned carefully to avoid scratching (I put it under running water and gently swish a microfiber cloth across it). Protection from fog -- fantastic!
(Note: "loud" is probably because I need to adjust the shield to the helmet to cut down wind noise, not because the shield is bad.)

Just got back from a 1400 mile ride up the coast of Nor Cal,Oregon and Washington.I did not have one problem with it fogging up in any weather condition(rain, fog, drizzle, heat or sun). The lens installed without a hitch and cleans up easy!My vision was not affected in any way during daylight or dusk.I have a Shoei RF 1000 helmet and used a clear visor and lens and also wear glasses. The only thing I regret is that I didn't purchase this years ago.A must have!

I installed this after years of dealing with fog and now I can't get my visor to fog up if I try.

Product did exactly as described. No fog at all even when I was stopped. Be careful with the dark tint though. May make it hard to see at night. And it says on the manual for day use only.
