Shoei C-49 Hornet Face Shield
As others have reported this light smoke is darker then it looks here. I am very happy about that, I also find that on an overcast day it's not so dark as to require a change. I have a black helmet and this really sets it off.

Light smoked face shield
Light smoked face shield is not to dark for night riding, although I change out to the clear lens. It looks really good during the day. It still blocks out a lot of the sun and people really can't see in.

Better than expected. :)
The tint is a bit darker than what is shown on the site. Goes great with my black helmet.

Shoei OEM Replacement part.
Made for the Shoei Hornet DS. Easy to order. Easy to install. What's not to like.

great shield but...
Revzilla delivered as expected.
But.. I bought the shield hoping that I would get more than a shield for the price. My bad.
The hinges (base plates) that hold the shield up on mine failed I assumed they would come with the new shield. They don't.
Zilla has great reviews on most products, please add to description that the base plates do not come with shield. And maybe sell them, they seem to be a weak point of the helmet. I got the base plates direct from Shoei.

Easy to replace, I didn't realize how scratched my old visor was until I put this one on. Wish I didn't wait so long to buy it!

Nice change from the clear shield
Provides enough light for cloudy days yet cuts down bright light on sunny days. I still wear sunglasses on bright days but get better sun protection with the gray shield than with the clear.

It's a replacement shield.
I don't usually write reviews. I like to get paid for the benefits I provide commercial businesses. In this case, Revzilla who can now chalk up another satisfied customer to it's already impressive list of generously donated satisfied customer reviews. But let's talk for a moment about the chance to win $100. Now I like that! Except there was some link to follow and I suspect if I didn't follow that link, and it look suspiciously like a link that I wouldn't want to follow, there was no way I was going to be eligible to win $100. Which, btw, kinda sucks because I could really use that money!
Oh.... you're wondering about the Shoei Hornet face shield in light smoke. Well, it arrived on time, was wrapped in the finest Shoei factory plastic, was defect free and fit my helmet. It cost way too much for poly-carbonate, but if it protects my face, which I suspect it will, from a bird hit, flying piece of road debris or a face plant, I'll be really glad it was there. Assuming I'm smart enough to keep it down, which about 1/2 the time, I'm not.
There you have it, a fine shield and a nearly impossible likelihood of winning $100.
