The Taos is nicely made, with rugged, quality fabric. The snaps, zips, pockets, etc. work well. A more expensive jacket will provide similar functionality with more comfort and fit features. That was a trade-off I accept, but when wearing this you don't forget that you are in a solid, tough jacket.
There are some well thought out features, but some ??! as well. The elbow pads are an inch or so off, and my arms are normal proportion. The jacket's arms are narrow at even the widest of the two adjustment points. I could not get my skinny arms in at the tightest setting. The back armor is not CE, but is the toughest bit of foam I have ever seen.
Overall, the Taos uses good materials in a basic design to provide a real value.
