One nice helmet
I picked up the Nolan 301 a few months ago. It has been a fantastic helmet! very comfortable and the composite feature with build in sun shield is great! I've used it on a few rainy rides and it has been a blessing. The front venting system works well to keep the visor clear and fog free. The composite front has a nice locking/closing system too. I've noticed with other composite models that the locking mechanism can feel plastic and cheap, this system has a really nice snap to it and has a nice smooth movement.
A few small issues with this helmet, the build in sun shield does not recess fully and hangs down just a tiny bit, nothing detrimental though. It is a bit loader at highway speeds however the way the helmet cushions are made, make it nice to have ear plugs or head phones in.

Great price for quality
I purchased this helmet for half the price of a 2012. It was only a few pounds heavier than the newer model but had all of the features.

A lot of helmet for the money
Great features including the sun shield, fog shield, new style clasp to replace the D-ring, and set up for audio system. It is noisy but that's normal for a modular helmet. Ear plugs are probably going to be the norm. The too-tight fit for my ears is the only drawback for me. My ears get cramped by the pad but I am still working on a solution there.

excellent product
Nolan has managed to improve what was already good (Nolan 102).
Nolan 103 Motorrad is excellent. Beautiful and easy to operate.

A great buy
The Mottorrad N-103 is awesome and is a great helmet with many fine features. After using HJC helmets for over 10 years, my first ride with Nolan was wonderful. Ventilation is very good and I had no need to pop the visor one notch for fresh air or to feel air circulation. In hot humid Florida, this surprised me.
I love the built in sun visor and will no longer flip out wearing glasses when I enter dark tunnels since the sun visor easily pops up with no hassle.
This helmet is heavier than my old one, but the impact was not noticeable at all, even after a full day of riding. Weight appears to be a function of the multiple joints for the 2 visors and chin unit. Again, I experienced no negative consequence due to the heavier weight
A note to the wise: this helmet is a bit noisier than I was used to, especially at highway speeds. I quickly learned noise is magnified by the empty "echo chamber" around the ears. The chamber has very little foam to insulate the ears given the need for space to carry the Ncom headset. On my first ride, with no headset installed, airflow noise was not muted at all. In fact, it was magified. I immediately went to the instructions and installed the foam pads that came with the helmet to fill the ear chamber. Most of the air flow noise was quickly cancelled and I could easily hear my engine again.
The pop-up chin is very handy when walking through gas stations, to get a drink, or to talk to strangers when getting directions. It offers no benefit when riding. Structural integrity overall seems reasonable even though I no longer use a full face helmet. When a stress test was conducted by hand, I found some lateral movement is evident when holding the helmet upside down and pulling the sides apart. However, the ability to stretch the hard plastic shell remains limited.
I am yet to buy the Ncom system. Sorry ... no comment.
Simple summary: comfort is great, convenience features abound, noise was an issue at first, but I found solutions. A great helmet to own!
