Safety Wire
The aviation industry has hundreds of Pliers to choose from, but for me the MSR brand works just fine. It takes practice and plenty of trial and error to get a neat and correct twist. MSR pliers get the job done right.

dont bother, these are not the ones that spin then self retract. You have to re-grip or change hands to get another pull. Check out aircraft sites for far better pliers for about the same money

Do these pliers allow you to reverse the direction of the twisting action? Also, what is the gauge of the included 25ft of wire?
John R on Jun 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, they cannot be reversed. Untwisting isn't part of standard safety wire practice anyway and as far as I know there is no such thing as a set of pliers that can twist both ways. If you need undo something, you cut it off and start fresh. That's why you should also have a good pair of diagonal cutters in your tool box. The safety wire is IIRC the most common gauge, which is .032.
