Base Layer fabric is 50% lighter than the standard cotton TShirt. After 60 minutes of exercise the Base Layer fabric releases 80% of its moisture after 30 minutes of rest, cotton releases only 40% of its moisture after 30 minutes of rest
Made with compression garments that will hold your muscles in place longer and reduce body fatigue. Less chance for pulled and sore muscle tissue.
Two different layers of fabric: Inner layer contains fibers that will wick the moisture off the skin quicker, creating a cooler inner climate. Once the moisture is separated from your skin the outer layer will evaporate the moisture evenly and fast.
Fabric is spun with wicking and antibacterial treatments
Light and keeps you hydrated
Wet your arms and you'll feel decent until your next gas stop, even under a heavy jacket and California's scorching sun. Nuff said.

This is the most comfortable under apparel I've picked up, and much better than just a t-shirt. Wicks moisture really well so it cools you down on hot days. I would definitely buy this again and recommend anyone else to also.

MSR Base Layer Long-Sleeve Shirt
I wore the MSR base layer shirt at a track event this weekend. It was very cool and comfortable. The texture and compression features of the fabric are quite nice.
The sleeves were a bit short on me as opposed to the Under Armour shirt that I had been wearing. Where this shirt has sleeves that were an inch too short the Under Armour shirt had sleeves that were an inch or so too long. Given the choice I'd go with the shirt with the short sleeves.
The snug fit was also much nicer under all my gear than something that has lots of extra material around the middle.
I recommend the MSR base layer shirt without reservation.

-pretty well built
-good material doesn't irritate skin or anything
-keeps me warm in 25-40 degree weather without having to wear 10 layers of clothes and gear
-i bought a medium and the sleeves are a tiny bit short(not even an inch fully stretched out) but doesn't effect warmth I'm 6"2 at 175lbs.

Jose Emiliano F: I wanted an entry level Base Layer. For what I read in the reviews this was the way to go.Jul 24, 2015
Coinneach F: I have the short sleeve shirt and like it a lot, even for everyday wear. However, it leaves my forearms to roast in my mesh jacket. The long sleeve keeps arm-roasting to a minimum.Jun 30, 2015
Rubens d: Good reviews and good price.May 28, 2014
Robert F: Got the long pants which worked wellNov 1, 2013
Robert C asked:Would I order the same size as my T-shirts?May 10, 2014
jacob d:I would probably go with the medium. I'm 5'10', 185 athletic build and the Large fits me great. I would be afraid the small might be a little too tight. I wear a Large Icon Contra Jacket and typically wear a Medium or a Large long sleeve T-shirt.Oct 6, 2014
