An ok tire, but a bit squirmy on the corners I haven't ridden it enough to say much about tread life, but it seems like a pretty good tire in most ways. My one main complaint is the 2 rows of grooves on the sides. They should be staggered more. As it is, they line up pretty well so as you're rolling into a corner you have good grip until you hit the groove on each side. As soon as you hit that groove it feels squirmy until you lean it over further and go past the groove. It doesn't slip when you hit the groove, but it is an unsettling feeling. I will not get these again. I think I will try a Metzler Tourance or Continental Trail Attack instead. March 25, 2013
Good tires Arrived as promised and easy to mount by hand after letting them sit in the sun for a couple hours. I have used Anakee 2's before and they work well on my Vstrom DL 650. Tread life is slightly better than average for an 80/20 tire and on road grip in wet and dry is excellent. They work well for hard packed gravel and caliche roads but this is not a deep sand or mud tire as it packs up just like a Tourance or the others with this similar tread pattern. Next time I think I'm gonna try the new Anakee 3's that just came out as I'm looking for a tire I can get some mileage out of. The high summer temps combined with the sharp aggregate chip seal asphalt here in south Texas eats a rear tire down to the cords in 4k to 5k miles. March 6, 2013
In for the long haul Just used this tire on a 1700 mile trek in Mexico...Fast highways, mountain twistys, off-road punishment. Takes abuse and asks for more...Not my first Anakee 2, won't be my last ! February 25, 2013
The Michelin Anakee 2 Review The Michelin Anakee 2 is a great tire IMHO. I feel that they perform in an excellent manner. It holds the road quite well, wet or dry. It has better feedback than other brands of this same style. It inspires confidence on the asphalt as well as on gravel & dirt roads. This is my third set I've purchased for my BMW R1150GS and I hope that Michelin will be introducing the same tire for the new water-cooled R1200GS that is coming out next March 2013. December 3, 2012
Anakee 2 on front of BMW 1100 GS Replaced a Tourance with the Anakee 2 recently on my 199 9 BMW 1100GS. Easy mounting of this tire compared to Tourance. Balanced with 1/4 oz weight. This tire exhibits good handling, great stability, nice ride. Turn in feels much different than Tourance - which took a little adjustment. Not bad just different. A confident feeling on the road wet or dry. Really like this tire. December 3, 2012
Great Tire These tires are a new welcome feel to my Tiger 800XC! the tires grip into the corners and feel great in the long runs! I have yet to experience any rain but with the wide grooves they should displace the water well. I'm hoping that the tread life will last as long as my Battlewings but time will only tell. I've only put around 1000 miles on so far but fingers are crossed. if your looking for a nice new rugged duel sport tires my bet is on this one! con: only small complaint is that there does seem to be a little road noise from the tire but nothing that i would find too distracting or something that cant be tuned out! Anakees are the best dual sport tires. Excellent service. Received the tires in two days. December 24, 2012
Excellent overall riding tire and long life as well!! I bought my 2006 R1200GSA with 2,000km on the Anakee 2 tires already on the bike. I put on and additional 12,000km on them myself riding in a fair bit of rain and on some off-road riding. I did a few long trips with moderately loaded gear on the bike. The ride was smooth and felt secure at all times even in the wet and cold weather. The tires really shine on the wet days leaving you to feel confident as you get into the corners. On the dry days, look out, these tires show their second side proving to be very grippy as the bike dips deeper into the twisties. I have only one concern and that is the tires have developed some scalloping as of late but with the amount of miles on them I'm still very happy with them. You will too!! December 7, 2012

Answer:
'H' and 'V' are speed ratings, of which 'V' is the higher. The 'R' stands for radius in reference to the tire/wheel size.
