Metzeler Tourance Front Tire
Generally good, but not perfectly predictable
(This review is the same as my review for the rear -- they both performed pretty equally.)
I took these tires on an ~1,000 mile trip through Susquehannock in PA and then down through Monongahela and George Washington Forests in WV/VA. I literally took them right from aired-down ripping through fire roads and double-track to scraping pegs on the back roads with my Super Tenere. In both of those, they were great. They were even good when the road was wet and patchy wet. They're good on the highway, and while I would never suggest that these tires should be pushed to high speed, there was some unregulated road where these may or may not have hit triple digits for a spell, and did fine.
In the earlier part of the trip, there were some logging roads that were hard pack with a bit of silty dirt on top. After it rained, they turned to mud, and these tires were absolutely, unbelievably, bad. There isn't really a good tire for that surface, but these felt like I accidentally left sportbike tires on. It was about 45 minutes of 15 mph with both stabilizers deployed, and no idea whether I was going to stay upright. I cursed these tires so often and so loud that the loggers probably have an opinion of Tourance rubber.
Avoiding mud like that is one option, but a: I don't decide the road surfaces and b: this caused me to lose confidence in the tires. I've gone through a corner, seen something that looked potentially muddy, and hit the brakes to stand the bike up because I really don't trust them in any kind of mud. I'm concerned that this will carry over into the winter with slush being a problem, and if I remember, I'll come back and update then.
Overall, these are great tires if you're doing long stretches of pavement broken up by some fire roads or double-track that you want to be a bit quicker and more confident through. The mud is why I gave these 4 stars, but if you're planning on mostly riding when it's dry or you don't encounter much mud then these could be perfect for you.

One of the best overall dual sport tire on the market
I bought both a front and rear for my R1200GSA. The last set went about 12K and only dry rot forced me to swap them out because they still had good tread left. This last set was almost 90 percent road. I just installed this new set and while on the break-in ride of 400 miles, I experienced snow, sleet, and rain. The pucker factor was great because they were brand new and had less than 25 miles on them. They were outstanding in the foul weather. At no time did I feel unsafe or that the rear was going to slide out. I did ride with great caution, but still maintained a 40 -55 mph highway speed through the snow and sleet. I will continue to buy this tire until no longer made. I generally do about 70-30 on/off road with these tires and get about 12-15K out of them.

Metzeler all the way
These are the best tires I've owned, these are on my triumph explorer and I've been riding different bikes since 2002. tread life is awesome and handleing in amazing. coupled with the matching back tire you should be able to get 15,000 miles out of a set. If your a gravel road, trail kinda rider the Karoo 3s might be more up your alley, but they are loud and not good on the wet roads.

A reliable high mileage tire.
Have used many of these.

Good tire, 8K out of them.
I'm pretty hard on tires, given that I ride a super tenere with ABS the bike takes better care of tires that other bikes I've had. The Tourance is one of the best tires for the money - 90/10, Considered a Heidenau, couldn't justify the trades given my pavement / gravel ratio and the extra $.

Hard to beat for larger dual sport bikes
I have lost count of how many Tourance's I have gone through. For a general purpose touring tire for my R1200GSA I just haven't found anything else that works as well for me.
I typically get about 10k miles out of a rear, and some times more out of a front, but I typically replace them in pairs. Right after receiving this tire from Revzilla I mounted it and took off on a 6,500 mile trip. Never any quality or other concerns with Metezler tires.
The Tourance isn't a great tire for making good time through sand or deeper gravel, but at the right speed those conditions can be navigated safely with these tires. On the tarmac, wet or dry they offer plenty of grip and are confidence inspiring. Unlike tires with more aggressive block patterns the Tourance rolls smoothly into and out of turns, even at pretty extreme lean angles.
Other than putting TKC's on for specific trips and conditions, these tires will remain my go to tire for the big GS. I have also run them on a 650 Dakar and was very happy with them on that as well.

50k miles and always used Tourance
To be fair, I haven't used any other tire so maybe rating this tire all 5's is too much since I have no point of reference.
I don't race or do any serious trail riding either so can't comment in those areas. Mostly mix of country roads/super slab.
The Tourance seems to be a nice balance between grip and durability.
