Fantastic product...but not perfect...
If you are to use these bags as a throwover bag only(over the rear seat), these would be ideal. Throw them over the seat then when you get to your destination, lug them over your shoulder and off you go...however...i chose to fix these underneath the seat and use the provided straps to keep everything tied down...that was when i saw the main issue with these bags...SECURITY...as they have opted out of using the double zip option there is no way you can lock the bags which means at pitstops/lunch and overnighters, anything left in the bags is a free for all for dodgy thieves...Install was a cinch and they look nice enough. Provided raincovers were definitely a bonus but yet to try them out....

Great saddlebags - may still need supports
These saddlebags are actually pretty fantastic. They hold a considerable amount, look pretty sharp, and have a ton of features for the price.
Installation is a cinch - though there are no visual aids to securing the bags with the included straps, just follow the general guidelines and you'll be fine. I used two of the buckle snaps to secure the rear attachment rings around my passenger back-rest, and the two velcro straps to secure the top front rings to the passenger foot-pegs. Bags stayed put and my passenger wasn't uncomfortable riding with them. Balance was good and detaching/reattaching the bags was quick and easy.
There are no carrying handles on these guys, so the best way to carry them while off the bike is to throw them over a shoulder and haul them around like a pack horse.
Now the cons:
(Keep in mind that I have a Suzuki Savage, which is a light cruiser - sized kind of along the lines of a Harley Sportster.)
Depending on the size of your bike, you'll likely need to re-locate your rear turn signals if they're currently mounted on the fender. Make sure you get a relocation kit that's appropriate for your ride. Some are better for American bikes while others are better for metric.
Kuryakyn claims that these bags do not need additional support because they're so rigid. However, I've found that they need to be set VERY high on the seat to prevent contact with the rear tire. If I had mounted the bags under the passenger seat, there's no way they'd have kept off the tire. This may be because my rear fender is so slight, but it's the case none the less.
I'd definitely recommend these bags, but caution the owner to tripple check tire clearance before riding with them.

Bang for the Buck
If you want removeable saddlebags and you are on a budget, then look no further ... The Kuryakyn bags do not require any special hardware to mount. They have tons of storage for weekend getaways or cross-country rides. The included rain flys are a must have option. The only saddlebags I've owned that didn't leak were hard bags. At least until I got these.
Note: First time mounting them the retention straps can be a bit daunting, but it gets easier.

Paul T:I used these on a trip to Banff on my Roadliner Midnight and had no problems at all with the brake or turn signals. I am not too sure how close this model is to your Harley Superglide but they are very adjustable.
The only thing I would caution on is to take into account the bag going down when weighted with a passenger or going over bumps so you adjust the height of the bags high enough. My first day I discovered that I did not account for this but the small scratch was easily fixed and remedied by adjusting the height of the bag.Dec 29, 2013
TYLER T:Yes. These bags expand almost 3" at the rear of the bag. It will comfortably fit a full face helmet. I do recommend that you use saddlebag supports with these bags. The bags will rub on the tire as well as the belt/chain without rigid supports behind them. Also the bags are great for trips (as long as you dont over stuff them).... But I would not recommend these bags for daily use, as the materials were not made to last in the sun and rain on a daily basis.
RevZilla:As long as your bike offers a seat wide enough for the Kuryakyn Grand Throw Over Saddlebags, and that the exhaust does not come in contact with the bags, you should be able to inter-change them without any issue.Aug 28, 2012
