Awesome boot. They don't make em like this anymore I have had these boots for nearly 6 years. And I ride very regularly. I commute to work on my bike 9 months out of the year. These things have held together amazingly. No issues whatsoever, some small abrasions where my toes have rubbed on the pavement over the years, and they are still holding strong. They awesome, and they look like proper boots, not ski boots or motocross boots. I just can't get over the durability. If or when they finally blow out a stitch or finally rip through, I will be getting another pair. I just hope they haven't altered their quality or manufacturing process over the years. Good engineer-type boot I've had these boots for three years. They were comfortable right out of the box. Not too stiff, and they have broken in nicely. Comfortable to walk around in. The sole has held up nicely and continues to provide a very secure grip despite being pretty worn down. Nothing has come undone or fallen apart. Good quality for the price. The major drawback for me has been the laces. I've replaced the laces... how many times?... I think I'm on my 6th pair, so that's about 2 sets per season. Laces have the potential to hang up on foot pegs too. This has not happened to me, but the potential problem is mildly unnerving and can be distracting. This is not really a fault of these engineer-type boots because they all have laces! But it's something to consider. As for me, I will never buy laced boots for motorcycle riding again. The "recommend this product" part of this review could be misleading: Yes, this is a good engineer-type boot, and I would recommend it as such. No, I personally would never buy boots with laces (engineer or not) again for motorcycling. August 11, 2012
Mine are actually quite comfortable and do not squeak. Don't know what people are referring to in regards to them squeaking, mine are totally quiet. The rivets and eyelets are silver and not black as they appear in the picture but the rest of what you see in the picture is perfectly accurate. Some black paint or even a black sharpie will fix this easily. These are actually very comfortable boots once broken in, 3-4 days of wear will do this quite well. I've been wearing mine to work and they've done great. The first two days kinda sucked but after that it's been a joy to wear these. The only complaint I have had about the fit is the lip of leather that sits right in the blister zone above your heel, but this is so common on work boots and such that I'm kinda used to it. This lip softened up pretty quick though so it's really only an issue the first couple of days. For this reason I'd wear them one day then wait 2 days to wear them again, after the second time wait one day then wear them regularly, it worked for me and I don't see why it wouldn't work for others. Oh, and these run a TINY bit wide so for those of us that stand all day they allow for plenty of foot/toe spread. Also, they don't breath very well so expect sweaty feet. I would never call these Herman Munster boots, they look perfectly fine with my slacks at work and do not stand out at all... I'm a Retail Manager and have to dress very professionally, these blend right in. Oh, I do agree that the strings suck, I'll be replacing these with Armor Lace boot laces soon. They don't NEED strings that tough but when it comes to boot strings I've always gone with Armor Lace because you only need to buy them once. August 8, 2011
Good boot - but not for casual dress I think this is a good boot, but if you're looking for one that fits the "casual dress" description, it falls shy. The boot is much bulkier than a standard work boot and the rivets stand out quite a bit (unlike the photo here, the rivets are chrome and seem a bit larger). September 13, 2010
Nice These boots are a little small in the instep, not important while riding. I foget about them, and thats the best thing to say about a boot. June 14, 2010
