My size 4X Jacket arrived today. A perfect fit. Plenty of room with adjustable velcro straps. My fleece jacket will fit under it for those freezing days but doubt if it will be needed. I don't like to be cold but love riding in the cold weather. It looks like only the finest materials were used in the manufacture of this jacket. Just remember that the sizes run on the large side but the adjustability of the straps compensate if it is too large. I just love it.

I bought this jacket as an alternative to wearing a heavier leather jacket and a rainsuit when commuting (4-5 city miles) on rainy fall and winter days. I tried it out on a cool 45 degree afternoon with just a T-shirt on underneath. In around town riding I was quite comfortable-no chill. I've ridden in the rain a few times now and have been totally dry, although I haven't been riding in any real downpours yet. Fit is hugely adjustable due to the waist cinch straps, but just as with my othe Joe Rocket jackets, I ordered one size larger than with most other brands. The cut isn't quite as fitted as with my other waist-length jackets, but I bought this for the winter months anyhow. Still, for a slightly longer cut, it doesn't look dorky, like some longer cut coats can look (IMHO). So I have a good looking, strong performing, bad weather jacket to carry me through the colder months, AND I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for it--WOO HOO!

Wore this for the first time on a ride from Salt Lake to Colorado. Went through snow, rain, and very high winds. I was never cold or wet once. When the rain cleared, I pulled out the liner and remained nice and cool. Great jacket and highly recommended.

Plenty of pockets, large pocket in rear comes in handy, great adjustments for arms and wrist to adjust fit and adjust airflow. With the inner lining zipped in this jacket keeps me warm at 70mph in 30 degree weather with a couple of light layers underneath. Leaving liner in works into the low 70's as airflow can be adjusted to keep you comfortable. Haven't had a chance to ride in hot weather yet since but I'm guessing without the liner this jacket will be good into the mid 80's before getting too hot. High quality zippers and absolutely no problems with the quality of anything on this jacket. Armor is light and comfortable. Collar is snap and not adjustable but I find it comfortable snapped or unsnapped so not a concern. I'm 6'4" 240lbs and the 2xl tall provides plenty of room and length for my long arms. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I bought this jacket this summer back when this site was "New Enough" and have put about 5000 Kms on it since. Sizing was good, I am 6'4" and 180 pounds with rather long arms and the L-Tall size fits me quite well(after brining in the waist) . I'v ridden in temperatures up to about 35c ( 95f) and with the vents open I stay fairly cool when moving. I have also ridden in this jacket down to about -10c (~10f) and with a layer or two underneath I have stayed nice and warm. This jacket has also been crash tested in a minor 30 km/h crash and held up just fine. All in all its a very competent jacket for the price. My main problem with this jacket is that it is not completely waterproof. After about 20 mins in the rain my arms are damp, after an hour I have puddles at my elbows which drain down into my gloves when I stand up. My torso stays 95% dry with a but of dampness around the out shoulders, although this might just be the wetness form my arms making it way up) . I have since taken to wearing a rain coat over top if I am riding for more then about 30 mins in the rain which defeats the purpose of a rain proof riding jacket. On closer inspection I saw that Joe Rocket did not seal or tape the clips(2 sets of 3 on each arm) on the arms meant for tightening the fit in the forearm and bicep. Either this is a manufacturing defect in my jacket or sheer stupidity on Joe Rockets part because those two spots on my arm under those clips are always the first to get wet in the rain. I intend on preforming some surgery on the jacket by cutting the mesh liner to get at the rear of the clips and using a goretex patching kit to seal them and see if that stops the leaks. If that works I will try to remember to update this post saying so. Either way this kind of patching should not be necessary on a ~270$ jacket. Other then the leaks I have been happy with this jacket but because of them I would not be willing to recommend this jacket to someone else as it is not fully waterproof and for the money you can get a better non-waterproof riding jacket. Either way you will be having to wear a rain coat over it.

I bought a SAS-Tec back protector and it fit the Ballistic 8.0 jacket with only a very small amount of triming. Huge improvement and i do recommend it.

I like this jacket a lot, Fits and looks great. Shoulder and elbow armor are good however I have ordered a back protector to replace the protection provided which feels wooden. Good air supply and venting.
