Two many problems for the money
pros: easy to install. SWR was very low using Midland 822.
cons: cheaply made. expensive $89, very light weight feels and looks like it was made in China. Coax cable very cheap 22 gauge and picks up noise like an antenna. plug (PL58) needed lots of filing to work on Midland's plug. Cannot get it to broadcast more then 200 yards.
Stopped by a truck stop and found a top quality mirror mount $24 that will mount to my roll bar bag cage and comes with 18 gauge coax cable. Got a 4' FireStick phase IV with manual tuning, top loaded high end antenna for $30.
final comment: save your money and do it right.
