Small but works as it should
We got the chin curtains to go with the new helmets and they are easy to install. They work well at blocking the air flow from entering the helmet which also helps on the noise level. If you ride in cold weather you sure will want to install one on you helmet

does what I wanted
Bought this to help reduce the updraft of air into my helmet to decrease noise. For that it works. On colder mornings, the shield tends to fog up a bit more, but once everything comes up to temp there are no issues with fogging.

HJC Chin Curtain ISMax BT
I bought a pair of these for the wife and myself. Previously I was having a lot of updraft noise coming into the helmet at 60+ mph. I have a full windshield and no lowers. The windnoise was playing heck with my (rider) microphone. After installing the chin curtain most of the updraft noise is reduced with only a marginal increase in fogging tendency. The curtains fit nicely into the helmet and stay in place. You will have to jockey your microphone past the curtain if you have a hybrid helmet (full face with moveable front). All in all I recommend especially for the price.

A shopper asked:How does this install in the helmet? Are there snaps or does it slide in or what? I recently bought an IS-max bt and I didn't like the openness of the chin area. Thanks for the help.Aug 21, 2013
David C:The curtain has tabs the slide into slots on the front of the helmet, so when you raise the front the chin curtain stays on it. It will hang down when raised. You will need to hold the back of the curtain with your thumb when you are lowering the front so it will go under your chin. Then you will press on the curtain as it has Velcro hook side that attaches to the cloth of the helmet. We only use ours when it is cold it really keeps the air out and reduces the noise. The only thing that I dislike about the curtain is that it hangs down when you have the front up. I hope this helps you.Aug 22, 2013
Shawn C:There is a hard plastic piece along the front edge that slides into the helmet between the fiberglass shell and the front Styrofoam padding and other than being in the way when putting the helmet on it blocks the air and wind noise.Aug 23, 2013
