I have the Dark Smoke and Gold Mirrored visors.
The Dark Smoke visor is great - good visibility, no obvious distortion, good tint level - better (and less distracting) than the sunglasses I'd previously been using. I do keep my clear visor in my bag for riding at night, and it takes all of ten seconds to switch visors.
However, I can't recommend the Gold Mirror. It looks great, but I can see my reflection inside the visor in direct sunlight. Seeing the glare off my skin is similar to having a fogged visor - I can't read my gauge cluster. My commute this morning alternated between "can't see because it fogged at a stoplight" and "can't see because I'm staring at my face". I'm disappointed, and I'll be switching back to the Smoke.

I wanted a visor with more style to breath a little more life into my existing helmet. It worked. The visor is completely reflective and really protects my eyes from morning sun fatigue. It fits just as well as the original. I wish it were pinlock, but it is still a good value as is.

The Shield fits absolutly perfect for the either the IS-Max of the CL Max Helemts from HJC. Wish it had Pinlock capability but it fits better and attaches much faster than the older HJC CL mechanism.

Hi I purchased a HJC CL-Max II Zader Helmet last year and I love it. I am looking at replacing the clear visor with one that will darken automatically when it is really sunny, and lighten at night when it is dark. Can you point me in the right direction to one? Thanks

To the best of our knowledge, the only automatic tinting shield is the SolFX Transitions faceshield for Bell helmets. We recommend retrofitting either the e-Tint AX-10 or MX-8 Electronic Tinting Faceshield Insert into your clear HJC faceshield.Products related to my answer
