GMax Flip Tint Sun Shield Conversion Kit for GMax Helmets 4.2 5 16 16
Nice Easy to install, looks great. Good for day to night, with out having to change visors April 3, 2013
Nice Sun Shade But.... This was a nice upgrade to our GMAX 44S helmets. It mimics our Nolan 102's and it actually covers more of the face shield than the Nolans. But you need a degree in Mechanical Engineering to install it correctly. There are no directions supplied with the shield. You absolutely need to replace all the existing components that come with the shield, contrary to some reviews here. Once you install the the correct parts, the sun shield will in fact ride on the detentes and will allow you to position the sun shield at different positions as needed. December 24, 2012
Great Day/Night Face Shield This is a great product that allows you to maintain the clear shield for night riding while still offering a tinted shield for day driving. Although the tinted shield does not cover the entire area, I have found that it does an excellent job of providing tint where you need it for driving and I am able to read my speedo/tach through the clear portion of the shield. This shield set offers excellent visibility and great optics. One thing to note is this product (or at least the 2 I purchased) did not come with installation instructions so it took a little guess work to figure out how to install it properly. You can use the existing shield ratchets even though the kit comes with new ones...just make sure to remove the plastic screw in the center of the circular mounting hole (this is replaced with the new bolt that holds both shields in place. Not for me! I was hoping to like this product. I enjoy the helmet, its light, looks and fits great for an inexpensive lid. Pros: Optically, this conversion kit looks great. Very clear. Cons: I am distracted by how high the tinted visor sits. Its right in my line of sight. Its very distracting. If only the tinted visor came down a bit more, it would be perfect. It gets even worse when I try to flip the visor up one click to allow more airflow. But when I do, I really can't see. I wish I could send it back. It was a waste of money. I'm going back to my original visor. March 30, 2012
Great helmet for the money. It's a little breezy, but that's not always a bad thing. Some helmets are so air tight that it causes you to sweat a lot, not the case with this helmet though. Absolutely love the sunshade for these helmets. The inner sun shade designs always fog up as soon as you put the shade down, not the case with the GMAX-44's outer sun shade. This is a much better design than the more expensive inner shade helmets and I hope GMAX keeps the outer shade in their design line-up. February 15, 2012
Great idea i love it. This is a great invention. I have to gmax helmets and love them both. This conversion kit makes it that much better and it works with my electric shield. January 30, 2012
A good retrofit product. It was a good idea to have come up with this because as in some other jet fighter helmets, you don't always need "sunglasses". It does whistle when flipped up which is the only drawback. When in the down position, I'm able to see my speedometer through the clear visor and look down the road through the tinted one. Simple but I like it like that. Installation is a pain and it had no instructions. I had to call Chris for help; sorry that I accidentally hung up on you, but I figured it out. November 14, 2011
Good deal I feel lucky because I bought it and specially with the good deal price. October 10, 2011

I see that there's also a double lens version of this shield that addresses fogging. Does Revzilla offer the double lens version as well?

Answer:
The double lens version was installed on our GMAX 44S helmets, You will need to drill out the Holes where the shield pivots to pass the screws through to the sun shield, but it will work.

Yes the double lens is offered at Revzilla as far as the fogging issue I ride with my shild up one noch

Answer:
Whether Revzilla offers it or not, the double lens version in your picture is a pain. I had it on my helmet and after about a month the detents would no longer hold the tinted visor up. Don' t waste your money.

Answer:
The single lens shield does not have any anti-fog coating; however, GMax does offer a double lens version that is designed to reduce or eliminate fogging issues. I have the single lens version and will get foggy when coming to a stop on a cool/chilly morning...this clears rapidly as you get some air flow across it from the front vents.

Answer:
No, but you can crack it open and it clears pretty quick. It will fog if it is closed and you are not moving.
