No fuss The shield was easy to install, less than fifteen minutes from start to finish. It functions just as advertised. A must have for daily commuting. November 1, 2015
nice to not have to wear sunglasses under the shield. nice to not have to wear sunglasses under the shield.. Works perfectly. July 14, 2014
double vision It's nice not having to change facesheilds, also very sturdy. December 16, 2013
Nice Easy to install, looks great. Good for day to night, with out having to change visors April 3, 2013
Nice Sun Shade But.... This was a nice upgrade to our GMAX 44S helmets. It mimics our Nolan 102's and it actually covers more of the face shield than the Nolans. But you need a degree in Mechanical Engineering to install it correctly. There are no directions supplied with the shield. You absolutely need to replace all the existing components that come with the shield, contrary to some reviews here. Once you install the the correct parts, the sun shield will in fact ride on the detentes and will allow you to position the sun shield at different positions as needed. December 24, 2012
Great Day/Night Face Shield This is a great product that allows you to maintain the clear shield for night riding while still offering a tinted shield for day driving. Although the tinted shield does not cover the entire area, I have found that it does an excellent job of providing tint where you need it for driving and I am able to read my speedo/tach through the clear portion of the shield. This shield set offers excellent visibility and great optics. One thing to note is this product (or at least the 2 I purchased) did not come with installation instructions so it took a little guess work to figure out how to install it properly. You can use the existing shield ratchets even though the kit comes with new ones...just make sure to remove the plastic screw in the center of the circular mounting hole (this is replaced with the new bolt that holds both shields in place. Not for me! I was hoping to like this product. I enjoy the helmet, its light, looks and fits great for an inexpensive lid. Pros: Optically, this conversion kit looks great. Very clear. Cons: I am distracted by how high the tinted visor sits. Its right in my line of sight. Its very distracting. If only the tinted visor came down a bit more, it would be perfect. It gets even worse when I try to flip the visor up one click to allow more airflow. But when I do, I really can't see. I wish I could send it back. It was a waste of money. I'm going back to my original visor. March 30, 2012
Great helmet for the money. It's a little breezy, but that's not always a bad thing. Some helmets are so air tight that it causes you to sweat a lot, not the case with this helmet though. Absolutely love the sunshade for these helmets. The inner sun shade designs always fog up as soon as you put the shade down, not the case with the GMAX-44's outer sun shade. This is a much better design than the more expensive inner shade helmets and I hope GMAX keeps the outer shade in their design line-up. February 15, 2012

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Teresa Q: I needed a replacement for my current face shield. Jun 4, 2014
A shopper asked: Is the clear facesheld that comes with this kit come with some sort of anti-fogging coating/properties? Jun 10, 2011
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
WarriorRider: The single lens shield does not have any anti-fog coating; however, GMax does offer a double lens version that is designed to reduce or eliminate fogging issues. I have the single lens version and will get foggy when coming to a stop on a cool/chilly morning...this clears rapidly as you get some air flow across it from the front vents. May 21, 2012

krisgarner: No, but you can crack it open and it clears pretty quick. It will fog if it is closed and you are not moving. Jun 13, 2011

A shopper asked: I see that there's also a double lens version of this shield that addresses fogging. Does Revzilla offer the double lens version as well? Jun 13, 2011
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
JimK: Yes the double lens is offered at Revzilla as far as the fogging issue I ride with my shild up one noch
never had it fog up. The double lens is just a sunvisor its a little tricky to install but well worth it on bright sunny days..

MossMan: Whether Revzilla offers it or not, the double lens version in your picture is a pain. I had it on my helmet and after about a month the detents would no longer hold the tinted visor up. Don' t waste your money. Jun 14, 2011

Longrider: The double lens version was installed on our GMAX 44S helmets, You will need to drill out the Holes where the shield pivots to pass the screws through to the sun shield, but it will work. Dec 24, 2012

A shopper asked: Does anyone know if this product will work on the GMax GM11D dual sport helmet? May 7, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael S: Not 100% sure, but looking on the GMAX website indicates that they are not compatible. This is the outer sun shield visor conversion kit for the GM48, that does not have a sun shield. It may fit the 11D if you remove the visor and use the new inserts. From my experience with my GM48 the sun shield plastic is very flimsy and while riding with it in the up position it got caught by the wind and it broke at the mounting pivot hole. I have not found anyone in US that sells only the sun shield. May 7, 2014

A S: Thanks for the heads up. Going to be riding a bike from Wisconsin to Alaska this summer and though I have sunglasses to wear under the helmet was just looking for more options. May 8, 2014
Charles L L: It looks like you would have to use your clear shield that came with helmet, because the clear shields are shaped different. But the hardware placement looks the same, so it should work fine. But I only have the pictures from the internet to compare the helmets,I have a GM68S and don't have a actual GM11D to compare side by side for an accurate measurement of shield size.
Hope this helpful.
