Meh

By Ireneusz G. From CHICAGO, IL on June 09, 2009
Sizing:
Fits 1 size larger
Pros:
Great Value
Cons:
Cramped
Comments:

I'm a 38W/30I and got the 38 pants

A bit small around waist and too long on legs

Hip pads are located mid thigh and knee pads slide below the knees. The waist barely velcros closed.

I would probably not get these pants again and go with Olympia even if it's a bit more money, never had fitting problems with Olympia.

nice fit, good pant for the price

By Ellen B. From MADRAS, OR on April 14, 2009
Sizing:
Fits true to size
Pros:
Comfortable and Great Value
Cons:
Comments:

I wear a Women's size 12 and Men's size 32 pant, 32" inseam. These pants fit well--they are not overly snug and feel very warm and secure with liner in--and are not too baggy to wear without liner. Great for cold mornings that turn into hot days--the PNW-eastside norm! Nice upper and lower-leg tightener-straps will secure them for a no-flap, secure fit to leg. I can wear the pant aloneas overpant, or, in extremely warm weather, wear shorts under them and go with just the mesh.

The mesh is not as sturdy as RevIt's products, though. Hip pads are adequate but not generous. Knee protection is good, and in the right place.

Waist is very tight, and the Velcro traps to close waist , even on a reasonable-weight woman, (5'7, 145 lbs) are inadequate to reliably maintain closure, esp in a crash. However, I've fixed this by adding a hook closure in the right place.

Overall, a good hot-weather pant. (But oh, Please let's have a lighter color for hot weather pants. What ARE you thinking?!)

Great pants for the money

Only used these once so far, but they fit well, seem like they will wear well, provide the proper protection plus be cooler than other pants of this type. Combine these things with the price at Revzilla, and these pants can't be beat!

Nice pants for the money!

By Alex L. From SUGAR LAND, TX on April 06, 2009
Sizing:
Fits 1 size smaller
Pros:
Comfortable and Fashionable
Cons:
Comments:

When selecting pants, my criteria were price, ventilation, and inclusion of knee/hip protection. The price was very reasonable and RevZilla had these on closeout so their price beat everyone else's :) . For some reason, most pants don't include hip padding so it was nice that Fieldsheer included them in these pants. Plus, since the pants are slightly baggy, they don't make me look like I have the hips of someone who gave birth to a bowling ball. Most other synthetic motorcycle pants look like baggy clown pants but these actually fit nicely, as they were not intended to be used as overpants. They're only slightly baggier than cargo pants (I'm 5'8 155lbs). However, there is no mistaking that these are motorcycle pants so don't expect to be able to blend into the jeans-wearing crowd. I thought the mesh would be abrasive but it turned out to be quite comfortable even when wearing just boxers (don't worry, it's not see through....I found out when I was wearing white boxers). Ventilation seems good, although I haven't worn them in the heat of the TX summer. I really didn't notice much difference between these pants and regular pants (jeans, cargo pants, etc.) in terms of heat transfer. But I'm sure when I start sweating as the weather warms up I will notice the cooling effect more.
Now the down sides. 1.) the waist fits small. I'm a 32 and the waist on these pants are more like a 30-31. Fortunately, the waist area is SLIGHTLY elastic so it barely fits me. You might want to consider getting 1 size larger especially if you intend on tucking in anything thicker than a t-shirt. 2.) the front velcro closure (above the fly) is kinda flimsy. It's soft and pliable. I noticed that since the pants fit snug around my waist, I could actually expand my stomach and "pop" the velcro open. A more "adhesive" (stiff military grade) velcro would prevent this. That being said, I yet to have the velcro come undone while riding. I guess in the worst case scenario, you can sew on a stronger set of velcro attachments or even use a safety pin.
But overall, I'm pleased with these pants and for the price, I would highly recommend you snatch one up from RevZilla before they're all out! How well do they protect in a crash? I'm going to do everything in my power not to post a review on that. :D

Versatile and Affordable

By Charles C. From RIVERSIDE, CA on March 30, 2009
Sizing:
Fits true to size
Pros:
Comfortable, Fashionable, and Great Value
Cons:
Comments:

I normally wear between a 34 and 36 size waist in jeans and other pants. I wanted to use these as overpants when it's cold and commando (only underwear) when it's warm so I ordered a 36. These pants do the job perfectly. They are a little big without anything on underneath but I like the roominess. Everything is adjustable so I don't have any issues with them being a little large. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the purchase and thanks to RevZilla for getting them to me in only 2 days!

Good price and nice pants, very warm with the liner in. I bought a 32 becase that's what I am but they were so tight in the waist. Sent it back for a 34 and it's all good now. Awesome customer service! Definitly get a size BIGGER though!

Great for the west coast!

Comments:

I'm a big guy at a 44 waist, but these pants fit like 46 or 47. Definitely HUGE. They look great and seem to offer good protection. They seem a little heavier than the Joe Rocket Phoenix pants, but my only gripe is that the leg zippers are on the short side. . . to short to allow me to slip them on/off with my boots on.

These pants are great for LA weather, great mesh material for the heat, and a decent liner for winter riding. I can see myself riding with these year round, and maybe a waterproof over over pant for rainy days. Full length leg zippers and a waterproof liner would have made these pants perfect, but then people probably wouldn't buy the 4 season pants they have at the higher price.

What an Upgrade

By David M. From NASHUA, NH on June 23, 2008
Sizing:
Fits 1 size smaller
Pros:
Comfortable and Great Value
Cons:
Comments:

What an Upgrade from the 2007 model. Best bang for the buck out there with a removable liner. I was originally buying these pants for the summer, but because these pants come with a liner I'll be more comfortable in the fall. The 2007 version didn't have a removable liner or adjustable knee pads like these pants do. I'm 6'3" and it was hard finding a pair of pants that would fit without riding up the whole time I am sitting down. This length is almost perfect. For sizing, I am a 34 waiste but went up to a 36 since the last 34 I had from fieldsheer fit too tightly around the hips with the hip pads. This size fits great and the adjustable waste eliminates the need for a belt. I wish the pants were a little looser because I like the loose fit, but I've tried a bunch of other styles and fieldsheer has the best length, protection, style and bang for the buck then anything else out there. Believe me I looked!
