Way large, order smaller, well made. I'm 36W 42chest, so according to their chart, got a medium. The length and chest was ok, but I could have put two of me in the waist. Rather than return, I cut the elastic panels very close to the rear of the vest and re-sewed them around to the back side. It looks clunky, but fits better than the "correct" size would, and because the vest material goes all the way around my torso, it will be even more effective. I took so long to do it I haven't tried it out yet (not hot enuf), but I have soaked heavy cotton shirts with a tee shirt for the same purpose. It's very effective, but this should work much better because it won't dry out so quickly. Will update next summer if I remember. Uploaded pix were cropped so much they're useless, sorry. Slimy ! I didn't really like this vest. After soaking it, it felt slimy, and if I squeezed excess water out of it, a white slick goo would come out. It left me feeling sticky - gross - right? I'm thinking it might be a fungicide so you can put it in a bag before the ride to keep it from mildewing before being put on. Still, it made me not want to put the thing on. Also the vest didn't cool as well as I hoped. We were in Wyoming, low humidity, and right around 100 deg. The vest seemed to help some, but it evaporated water very slowly. I get better results from soaking my t-shirt during gas stops. July 28, 2014
A summer riding must-have It holds water for several hours, cools very well, and is well made. It sure helps in the dry, hot southwest where I ride. Not so sure it would be as useful in humid climates. Soak it for 20 minutes and it's good to go. When you stop for fuel, wet it down again in the restroom sink or hose bibb for a quick top up. Doesn't soak your base layer too much if you dry the outside off after soaking. May 27, 2014
Way cool! Really works, cool technology. Took in on a 5000 trip, stopped every two hours to refresh with water. Worked almost the whole trip until the end, maybe 30 times, now doesn't work as new. February 24, 2014
Great for hot weather. I used this vest a lot this summer. Great product for me. I don't like riding in the heat. It cooled me down with temps in the 90's to where it was bearable for me, which is saying something. Lasted for hours while wet. November 4, 2013
Sizing Have yet to use the product; still in the snow zone. I want to comment about the sizing, however. It is very true to size. I bought an XL and there is plenty of wiggle room in it. Also, good basic bang for the buck. February 6, 2013
Not sure yet It did cool me down seem to work better with out the mesh jacket over it. When it is hydrated it seem heavy, the dampness feeling was not bad and I wasn't wet like I thought I was going to be when I took it off. The cooling effect didn't last as long as I expected from other reviews. July 11, 2011
Life Saver This vest was a life saver on a recent trip. Temp was 100F in western Utah to 116F in Las Vegas, but with this vest inside a vented jacket I stayed relatively comfortable for 4+ hours. You can buy more expensive cooling products, but this worked well for me for a reasonable price. I kept it wet in a 2 gal. sealable bag when not in use . July 15, 2010

Michael H asked: Does this product make the shirt underneath it wet or damp? I'd use it for commuting to work, not touring. (Late July, west coast Florida, 84F/90% humidity at 6 AM.) Jul 28, 2014

Mohammed F: Yes it would, could feel my shirt wet also jeans, not alot though, it wasnt dripping. Really didnt notice much in cooling just that you had a wetish t shirt. Couldnt really say how much, in a work shirt am guessing yes it would show. Jul 28, 2014

Peter T. K: Yes, I'm afraid it does (which feels good to me in this hot humid weather). If I need another shirt to look good at destination, I bring it to change. Jul 28, 2014
