A little clumsy
I bought two of these, one for me and one for my daughter. On our first ride, she had a problem lining up the mating halves so that they would latch. I thought "she'll get used to it" and I snapped it for her. Later, I had the same problem and in fact misaligned them to the point that one side latched and the other was not engaged .. now the thing is stuck and the helmet is on my head. After un-threading the strap and removing the helmet the problem was easily resolved. Now I am more careful and the quick release works well enough that I continue to use it.

Difficult to latch/unlatch, may actually be unsafe
I had put one of these on my Shoei Qwest helmet and ordered a new one for my Shoei Neotec, that has not arrived yet. This is impossible for me to latch or unlatch with gloves on. You also must make sure that it is actually latched correctly because you can get the parts inserted together incorrectly and it will separate.
The design of Shoei's chin strap pad seem to also contribute to the problem. I could not get the chin strap tight enough so it would not slip over my chin. The last straw was when it would not unlatch it and I had to carefully unthread the chin strap to be able to get the helmet off.
I'll stick with the double D rings.

Works well. Locks solid.
Easy to install. Useable if wearing thin gloves. Like the metal to metal click/lock vs. other all plastic brands.

Faster than a chin strap
I use these on all my helmets for quick and easy doning and doffing of the gear. Never had one break, allows me to maintain the same strap position so I'm not readjusting how loose or tight the strap is each time also.

Simplicity at its Best
Makes hooking and unhooking helmet strap fast and easy. You can easily unhook your strap even with gloves on.
