Best Price for Performance on my Ducati Multistrada 1200
The Dunlop D616 is now my choice for all around performance on my Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak Special Edition. The previous Pirelli Scorpion Trail was okay but does not have the off road or wet capability of the D616. The D616 has a deeper tread block for dirt and gravel. The Dunlop really needs a harder compound for the middle section for my application. Front tire mileage is around 10,000miles. Rear tire mileage is approximately 3000 miles. This is partly due to the way I ride and 150hp on tap. I also do a lot of touring on straight roads(central Oklahoma) to get to the curves. The D616 is considerably les expensive than the Pirelli as well. All in all this is a great tire!

Aggressive tread - great wet traction
The D616 has the most aggressive tread pattern available in a 180/55/17. It offers great road manners, superb wet traction and is reasonably good when meandering down an occasional dirt road. The front is still in pristine shape at 9k but don't expect more than 5k out of the rear unless you really baby it.

Good Value & Grip for your Vtwin Dollar!
Had a set as the stock issue tire on my Buell XB with "Chicken strips" about 1/4 inch wide or less, so not sure why the fella on the R1 dumped it.....didn't know about scuffing in tires & the injection mold release agent needs to be washed off ANY new tire. Great set & I have bought them again. You won't drop your bike if you clean em & scuff them in properly!! Great tires!

Works for me
I bought a pair last summer for my FZ6. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so I ride in the rain all winter. These tires rock!
They grip great in the rain, they work great for dry riding (I commute to work, and ride on weekends...I don't ride at 9 tenths on city streets, because you never know what crap you'll find on the street) the only complaint I could give is they do make a bit of noise at speed. I would (and will) buy another set when these wear out.
To give you an idea how much I like them, I thought about trading my bike for a FZ1, but I don't want to buy another set of tires, so I'll wait to trade when these tires are about gone.

Ideal for RC51 / Firestorm / Superhawk
Great Tire for it's intended purpose which is big bore V-twin sport bikes. Lated much longer than my last tire. Kid on R6 in last review should read all the specs and intended uses of the tire before buying one.

Slippery on corner
This tire will slip on corners. I dumped my R1 on the first corner. Its like riding on ice. Don't buy it if you want to corner!
