Dunlop D616 High Performance Tires
Ordered this tire after hydroplaning on my last one. It seems to have great Grip and handles well even on wet/salty roads.

I bought the rear to match a front that's not worn. It handled nicely on a 2300-mile trip last week, including some fairly heavy rain. I don't have enough experience to make a serious judgment.

Aggressive looking tire
This is my 2nd D616 on my buell CityX, really like the aggressive tread pattern. Handles great in all weather.

Perfect for VTR
I have a '98 Honda VTR Superhawk, and these tires are way better than the Bridgestones that were on it when I bought it.
I live on the coast of NorCal where we have a whole lotta wet weather and gravel on the roads. And as mentioned, the tires are predictable in the rough, wet or gravel. I think perfect as perfect can be for this v-twin.

I bought these to the original replace scorpion trail on my Ducati Hyperstrada. So far the dry grip is almost as good on good pavement and better on bad surfaces, especially when there is the occasional gravel on the road. Off-road grip is much better than the Pirelli's.
Overall... very satisfied.

Best Price for Performance on my Ducati Multistrada 1200
The Dunlop D616 is now my choice for all around performance on my Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak Special Edition. The previous Pirelli Scorpion Trail was okay but does not have the off road or wet capability of the D616. The D616 has a deeper tread block for dirt and gravel. The Dunlop really needs a harder compound for the middle section for my application. Front tire mileage is around 10,000miles. Rear tire mileage is approximately 3000 miles. This is partly due to the way I ride and 150hp on tap. I also do a lot of touring on straight roads(central Oklahoma) to get to the curves. The D616 is considerably les expensive than the Pirelli as well. All in all this is a great tire!

Aggressive tread - great wet traction
The D616 has the most aggressive tread pattern available in a 180/55/17. It offers great road manners, superb wet traction and is reasonably good when meandering down an occasional dirt road. The front is still in pristine shape at 9k but don't expect more than 5k out of the rear unless you really baby it.
