Great size and fit Though I have not put these bags to the test, the fit and installation on my G650gs is quite good and easy. I have a set of heat shields on backorder at Chase Harper because the dual pipes on the bike get very hot and come very close to contacting the bags. I am so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of the bags that I do not want to take the chance to damage them May 6, 2013
A really good product for its' value Access from the top is a great feature. Previous bags used to open from the side and things would fall out. Really easy to install. Removable pouches is a great and practical feature. March 11, 2013
Easy to use, adaptable to specifics of bike and look good. These bags meet all the needs of any luggage carrying situation for a really competitive price. A particular bonus I've found is the removable pouch/s from the front of each bag which make great mini-tank type bags by slipping the wide velcro strap through the handle-bar cross bar and fastening to sit tucked in behind the instrument guard, against the tank or pretty much anywhere in the keys/instrument area. It's small enough not to obstruct anything but a useful size for things you may prefer not to have in your pockets. Quick to remove and replace on the pannier bag if needed or to use on its own for glasses, phone, extra keys etc. riding either with or without the full pannier bag set...really handy. Very functional durable soft panniers I have owned a set of these for several years and several thousand miles. They have worn thin and tattered but are still functional. I would not hesitate to utilize them for an adventure trip. The new replacements look "Oh, so much prettier." and when they need replacing, so will I. Happy Trails. May 15, 2012
A GREAT saddlebag I have used a pair of these for the past 13 years, they are rock solid, super durable and roomier then a goldwings bags! I'm about to order a new set as mine are faded looking now after many, many miles. Absolutely excellent product! August 25, 2011

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Andre F: Purchased Chase Harper ET 4000 Saddlebags for for their capacity to hold lots of gear and keep their shape. They are easy to install over my HT SU luggage rack. They do not sag nor move once strapped in place. Great buy, I definitely recommend them. Aug 13, 2013
Damien M asked: Do you need a mount to attach these saddlebags? Apr 20, 2014

David K: Hi Damien. No mount required. I've found these to be a really good option and they're universal. The wide straps go across the rear of your seat or luggage rack and are adjustable with velcro to an appropriate length. Then there are thinner straps to connect to whatever points are convenient to anchor the bottoms. They also have a stiff plastic insert in the bags to keep their shape. Nice and roomy with additional external pockets and two removable small pouches at the front of each bag which I've used as small tank/handlebar bags. I certainly recommend them. Cheers. Duane D: A mount is not required, there are several lash straps that can be attached to
practically any place on the bike. A standoff from the exhaust is required so as not to melt the exhaust side pannier. Hope this is of assistance. Duane.

Eric Z: no, you hang them across the seat and attach the front straps to the passenger footpegs and the rear straps to the turn-signal stalks. Apr 20, 2014

A shopper asked: How well do the bags hold their shape when loaded up? It looks like any stiffeners would be in the main storage compartment. My current bags are 10+ years old and sag quite a bit - no stiffeners. thanks. Dec 3, 2013

David K: Hi there. Had these bags about a year now and am very pleased with them. The plastic stiffeners in the bags do their job well, maintaining their shape and position both when fully packed and carrying loads that don't fully 'stuff' the bag. I've also found the little removable pouches shown in the photo on the front of the saddlebags to be great for handlebar bags. I have a 2002 Yamaha XT600 and they are perfect for small items, one tucked in behind the head light shield and the other powered up for phone charging and velcro strapped to the handlebar cross bar. There are plenty of attachment points for the saddlebags so I'm sure they'd be fine on any bike. In answer to your original question, the plastic runs around the inside of each main compartment to the floor and all four 'walls' and held in place very firmly. That also means that the outside access pocket, though soft on the outer wall, is supported by the plastic stiffener through the inner wall. Great product and thoroughly recommended. Dec 3, 2013

Andre F: The front, back, wheel-side and floor is reinforced with stiffeners. The bags hold their shape very well though sagging may be more a function of how they are installed on your bike. I installed my CH ET4000 on a Happy Trail SC rack because the set up offer clearance to the exhaust pipes and allows you to secure the bags directly to the rack. This setup allowed me to leave the bags on all the time even when empty... In my opinion, the rack is a must. Hope this helps! Dec 3, 2013
