Chase Harper ET 4000 Black Saddlebags
I ordered these for a camping trip to help carry extra gear that I needed to be able to leave on the bike. They are really great bags and very durable.
-The fabric is sturdy and well sewn with attention to even small details like seams and high pressure areas. There are strong plastic inserts on the bottom and the sides that hold the shape of the bags even when empty which is a nice touch and, because it is rigid, helps to secure it to the bike and add stability.
-The zippers are surprisingly sturdy. Because of the shape of my luggage rack and exhaust pipe, mine sat slightly awkward and there was some tension on the zippers closest to the bike. They did not pull apart, tear, or otherwise fail. I was impressed with that. I have seen "heavy duty" zippers fail under much less strain.
-Installation was not that difficult and it's pretty straight forward. I struggled with getting them positioned where it was sturdy but would also not touch the exhaust pipe since I don't have a heat shield. The velcro top straps are very sturdy with plenty of hook & loop for adjustability and stability. There are 4 webbing straps with side buckles that help to attach it and "snug" it up. I did wind up having to put mine on backward though due to the angle of my exhaust pipe and the shape of my luggage rack (see pictures).
-It's really durable and heat resistant. I rode for 3 hours one way on a 95* day with the bags about 1/2 inch from the exhaust pipe and the fabric did not show any signs of heat stress at all. It was really just warm to the touch, not even that hot.
-I am slightly concerned about the rain/water resistance since I have not tried that out yet but you can tell that the fabric is very tightly woven and almost feels as if it's been coated to add water resistance. There is also a storm flap over the front pocket zipper that will help with that too. But the zipper to the main compartment is exposed and may let water in.
-There is an extra mesh pocket on the top of each bag with an elastic shock cord. It's pretty small and would be good for holding smaller items in place but not much else - I put my gloves there when I stopped for gas.
-The two removable pouches are an awesome feature. They are actually quite large and I put my phone, wallet, chapstick, and a few other small things in one then pulled the velcro strap (which is quite large and very secure) to remove it to go into the grocery store. Very nice feature.
Overall, these bags were an excellent investment and I am very pleased!

Great size and fit
Though I have not put these bags to the test, the fit and installation on my G650gs is quite good and easy. I have a set of heat shields on backorder at Chase Harper because the dual pipes on the bike get very hot and come very close to contacting the bags. I am so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of the bags that I do not want to take the chance to damage them

A really good product for its' value
Access from the top is a great feature. Previous bags used to open from the side and things would fall out. Really easy to install. Removable pouches is a great and practical feature.

Easy to use, adaptable to specifics of bike and look good.
These bags meet all the needs of any luggage carrying situation for a really competitive price. A particular bonus I've found is the removable pouch/s from the front of each bag which make great mini-tank type bags by slipping the wide velcro strap through the handle-bar cross bar and fastening to sit tucked in behind the instrument guard, against the tank or pretty much anywhere in the keys/instrument area. It's small enough not to obstruct anything but a useful size for things you may prefer not to have in your pockets. Quick to remove and replace on the pannier bag if needed or to use on its own for glasses, phone, extra keys etc. riding either with or without the full pannier bag set...really handy.

Very functional durable soft panniers
I have owned a set of these for several years and several thousand miles. They have worn thin and tattered but are still functional. I would not hesitate to utilize them for an adventure trip.
The new replacements look "Oh, so much prettier." and when they need replacing, so will I. Happy Trails.
