EXCELLENT ROAD TIRES. I had about 10,000 miles and still had about 35% threadlife on them. Phenomenal roadgrip rain or shine. I wouldn't use them offroad though, tried but they are not built for it. May 8, 2015
Good bang for the buck Good tire at the price point. Looks like I'll get about 8K out of a rear on a Tenere. April 13, 2015
Great Tires I have run many tires on my 2007 DL650 and by far these have been the best value. I am getting 9500-10,000 miles per set. I do not use these off-road as i don't consider the DL a dirt bike but a light touring road bike. November 11, 2014
If it's not broke, don't fix it (Take note Michelin!) These Bridgestone's came as OEM fitment on my 2014 Yamaha Super Tenere ES, and as my title says...if it's not broke, don't fix it. I am currently replacing these with like for like because I can't find any reason to switch to this tire's competition. I live in Austin, TX where we see shorter life out of tires due to course asphalt and 100+ temperatures and I still got over 8000 miles out of the rear tire before it was flush with the wear bars. That's exceptional around here for a tire that performs as well as these do at everything. These tires have never let me down with very hard road riding (I use every ounce of these tires), gravel, pouring rain, some mud, etc. My front is still trucking along and I predict it will be okay until around 11000 miles or more. I feel that these are truly one of the only 80/20 tires remaining to pick from. Competition like the Michelin Anakee 3, Metzeler Tourance Next, Conti Road Attack 2 and others are all like 90/10 or 95/5 and even though I don't ride majority off road - I still do plenty enough to desire more than a 90/10 can give me off road. These Bridgestone's did everything I asked of them recently doing several hundred miles of off road on Colorado passes up to 13000 feet. Including large sharp rock, dirt, gravel, mud, grass, etc. Passes included Cumberland Pass, Ceballo Pass, Los Pinos Pass, and Cottonwood Pass as well as many treks off of these passes into areas unknown to me. All off road and these did as excellent as you can ask for out of a tire that got me there from Austin and back in a mix of dry and pouring rain. Hot and cold. If it's not broke, don't fix it...so another set of Bridgestone's will go on. I've read too much bad about the leading competitors (Anakee 3, Tourance Next, others) to risk trying something different when I KNOW that these work exceptional and are proven to take a darn good off road beating at speeds over large sharp rock. No cupping, no abnormal well, just a darn good tire. Thanks for making such a great tire Bridgestone and please refrain from following in the footsteps of other manufacturers that go more road oriented. These fit the bill perfectly. There was nothing wrong with the Anakee 2's but Michelin proceeded to replace them with a tire that is now iffy. In the past I always replaced my stock tires with Anakee's when they wore out, but not anymore. These Bridgestones are every bit as good or better than the last set of Anakee 2's that I ran. Please don't change these Bridgestone! They're not broke, so please don't fix them! ;) September 14, 2014
Great on my Super Tenere Really happy with the superior on-pavement performance. I commute year round, all weather, and these tires will take maximum lean angle while providing great road feedback. Plus I"m getting 13K miles out of them before they hit the wear bars. May 12, 2014
Street tires, slippery on gravel and off road This is not a 50-50 tire, at the most is a 90-10. You can kiss the idea to ride in seated position on a gravel, dusty, road goodbye. You can drive in stand up position with a lot of care. It might work on a heavy slower bike such a GS1200 but on a Tiger 800 XC it has just no grip. It feels like "floating" with no feeling of control at all, at 50km/h is risky, at 80 is just suicide.... On the other hand it has plenty of grip on the street. Curves, and stability very good, wet conditions does the job. I'm changing my tires to the K60, my riding mate, has those on his Tiger 800XC, not that incredible on the street, still very good grip at corning, but the real thing on the gravel Triumph Tiger 800 XC February 7, 2014
Excellent tire for the money, great street tire for Big Traillie bikes Excellent tire for the price, great street tire for Big Traillies! January 27, 2014
Good reliability, take some time to warm-up 2009 R1200GS Adventure I liked this tire, do not treat it as a sporty tour tire I rode about 17k miles with it and it was really good It did slip a couple of times when I accelerated out of the turns, though pretty predictable. Some anecdote to share is riding across a bridge in the highway with strong wing, the heavy R12Adv did change to the left lane (this happened to me 3-4 times), not sure if its due to low grip but it hasn't happened to me again with the conti trail attacks. Good balance between durability, on road traction and fire-road riding. Excellent bang for the buck! January 20, 2014

Dave R: Quality tire with excellent reviews overall, at a great price Feb 18, 2015
David M: Great tire, lasts long (17K miles on my R1200GSA) even wear, value for money (one of the cheapest compatible for my bike)

bad points:
it punture a lot compared to the Conti Trail Attack (maybe its coincidence).

Stephen B: good ratings on the Stromtrooper forum Sep 5, 2014
G R: Have ~ 8000 on current BattleWings on my super tenere with 3/32's left on front and rear. Only replacing them because I have a 4000 mile road trip coming up and don't want to stop to replace tires. Its good on road, and been acceptable on gravel and dirt roads while fully loaded. Good 90/10 tire in my opinion. Jul 15, 2014
Allie W: Fit my bike and price and free shipping Jun 19, 2014
Evelyn N: I ride the Bridgestone Trail Wings now on my VStrom 1000 and I got 14500 on the Rear Tire and I still have tread left. The Battlewing are the new OEM Tire for the 2014 so I figure it'll be just as good. It was also a little bit less expensive than the Trail Wing. Jun 16, 2014
Clete K: great tire, holds the road well and stands up to a lot of punishment without failure Apr 3, 2014
Douglas S: Original tire that came on my Yamaha Super Tenere & I got great mileage plus it did everything I asked of it on the road where I ride 99%. My original tire has over 11K on it and it will go another 1500-2000 miles if I wish to push it plus the front tire still looks new. I thought I would go with PR4 tires but I am going to wear the front out first along with this replacement rear. Jan 16, 2014
Lewis K: I wanted a tread pattern that would not kick the bike sideways when "gassing it up" around a gravel corner ! Oct 1, 2013
Kevin B: Price and Reviews, Never tried before. Sep 7, 2013
Dale L: Stock tires on my super tenere have been happy with them. Aug 31, 2013
A shopper asked: Best tires for a 2007 DL-650 V-Strom, mostly street-ridden. Replacing original rear tire that has 7900 miles.
Is anyone making a dual-compound tire (hard center tread/soft sidewall tread)?
Thanks

Christopher C: I put BattleWings on my 2012 VStrom 1000 (90 percent street ridden) and absolutely love the tires. They grip great on twisty's, handle rain excellent and provide a very smooth ride. I have 2500 miles on them and they are wearing nicely - I expect to get 7500+ on the rear, more on the front. The BattleWing is a huge improvement over the stock TrailWings that caame on the bike. Thomas S: Just put a set on a 2006 DL-650 V-Strom front and rear, the OEM tires went 12,200 non-aggressive miles. I found these tires to be an excellent replacement for original. They handle well and I noticed they do not follow road patches and tar snakes at all! Highly recommended! Sep 27, 2013

Macon D: Haven't found one yet. Battlewings are the most cost effective quality tire I've found and last as long as any tire out there including Metzeler and Michelin which I also tried. Sep 26, 2013

William H: Michelin now makes Pilot Road 3 tires for the DL-650 which will last 15000 miles or more on the DL650 and they are great handly tires wet or dry. Nov 1, 2013

SkychsVa: Hands down .... without a doubt .... Michelin Anakee 2's. Your bike will fall into the turns with ease and the grip in both dry and wet conditions is excellent. They hum a little as they wear but you should get around 8K miles on the rear and 10-12K on the front. Jun 18, 2012

RevZilla: We recommend the Michelin Anakee 2 or the Heidenau K76's as options to consider for a dual sport bike rider looking for a higher mileage tire. Jun 7, 2012

A shopper asked: The Yamaha Super Tenere comes with Battle Wings model "E". I see that you have "E" for the front, but do not have the "E" for the rear. Instead you have "H". What is the difference between the "E" model and the "H" model? And will you be stocking the "E" model for the rear? Thanks, Jay Feb 24, 2015

Mark J: The E variant is OEM fitment for the Tenere. There is also a G variant that is OEM fitment for some of the lighter-weight bikes and recently I've noticed a J variant for the new DL1000 Suzuki. I suspect the H that Revzilla is carrying is just the standard non-OEM general-purpose Battlewing. (At one time, I thought that the F variant was probably the general-purpose, but don't recall exactly.)

I emailed Bridgestone about these variants once and they gave me a non-informative answer that these special variants were "optimized" for each OEM application. I would presume that the E for the Tenere is designed to handle its higher weight, but they wouldn't confirm with me. Personally, I wouldn't be concerned about using the general-purpose variant for any reasonable use.
