I purchased the Dark Smoke shield to supplement the clear shield that came with the XD3. I was a bit worried the dark would be too dark, but now that I've used it I'm finding it perfect for sunny days.
Not having owned an Arai helmet before, I was wondering how easy it would be to fit the new shield. Armed with a small coin to unscrew the peak and the clear shield I fitted the dark one very easily. It was a lot easier than some other helmets I've owned.
In summary I'm really pleased I ordered this shield.

Ordered the dark shield and works good. It is not really all that dark and it could be a little darker. Living in Arizona the sun is pretty intense. The only negative is the price (not Revzilla's fault). Arai has great products but their prices are to high on everything they have. It is always a tough decision to pay their high prices but I usually give in due to their high quality. Easy to change shields but only after to do lots of practice to get the hang of the system.

This is a great shield and is clear with little distortion. The only problem is so far I have left out early for a day of riding and not gotten back till after dark. Once the sun goes down you really can't see through it so don't for get the goggles.
