My checkpads were worn out after 5 years of ridding The original checkpad material was starting to wear and washing the material was beyond the help that I needed. The new checkpad material now has elastic to help hold the fabric better over the foam forms. They just popped right in and after washing the headliner I had a new helmet :) August 11, 2014
The Solution to All Problems. Hey, wait, they're just cheek pads, and for a specific helmet no less. So maybe not all things to all people. BUT...they make a world of difference and they're CHEAP. When you get that helmet that fits your noggin just right, THEN go hunting the cheek pads at hold you like Aunt Matilda before planting that god awflul Easter smooch. Only when top AND bottom fit, THEN you're protected. And when you find that fit, stock extras. Stubbly guys: the lining's made with you in mind, but they're not bullet proof. And sure, they're washable, but they take time to dry so do what all the cool kids are doing and rotate sets. There's nothing like a clean helmet to make you a sharp dressed rider. The right pads will keep your smile in place, and who doesn't like happy cheeks? March 31, 2014
Awesome Wife has a small Arai helmet and she wanted it to fit a lil more snug. Got her the XS 40mm cheek pads and now her helmet fits perfectly. May 20, 2013
Worth The Effort My local BMW sold me the helmet several years ago, it has always been too tight in the cheeks, of course they told me it would contour to fit with wear. I didn't know the cheek pads were replaceable and I doubt if they did or cared. Retailers ought to be properly trained to fit riding gear. I'm very pleased with the informative and educational efforts put forth by Revilla November 12, 2012
Helmet needed to be freshened up After riding a few years in the Texas heat, it was time to replace some of the lining of my helmet. Since I have a narrow face, I went up a size on the cheek guards. Helmet smells sweet and fits perfectly. July 16, 2012
cheaper than a second helmet I bought a set of slightly smaller pads for my Arai helmet so I could use my race helmet on the street. I fit my helmet more snugly for racing than for street riding so this option allowed me to use the same helmet for both. They are easy to change. Revzilla came through fast and at a competitive price. January 16, 2012
Great product from a great company I love my Arai helmet, but it was just a tad bit tight in the face. I purchased the next size down pads from the ones that normally come in my size (Large), and the fit is now perfect. I couldn't be happier with the fact that Arai chooses to make minor fit adjustments available or the quality of the products. The installation was quick and easy. I've been riding for 41 years, and the Arai Profile (I have a round-oval head) is the best helmet that I have owned, by far. December 14, 2011
Perfect Fit Having a huge giant freak head, the 25mm pads that come standard in the XL Arai profile are just too tight. I got the 15mm replacement pads. Installation was easy and the 15mm pads make the helmet fit perfectly. As always Revzilla has warp speed shipping. August 15, 2011

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Steve B: I have the Arai Profile helmet, and the helmet fit was perfect but the cheek pads were just a little too tight. Moving down one size from the pads that came with the helmet gave me a perfect fit. I used the pads that came with my helmet for a little while to be sure I needed thinner ones, as the pads will compact a little and sort of mold to your face after wearing them for a while. Keith H: The 30mm cheek pads that come standard with the Arai Profile size Medium were too tight. Aug 9, 2014
Ben M: Because fit. :) May 14, 2014

Coron M asked: Good Afternoon,

I recently purchased an Arai Viper GT (as I am in Europe) which I understand is the European version of the Arai Profile. My problem is that my head borders between medium and large and I opted for the large, due to me having to squeeze my head into the helmet. After wearing the helmet a few times, I'm realizing that maybe I should've purchased the medium. Instead of purchasing another helmet, could I replace the liners to have the helmet fit the equivalent to a medium? If so, what size pads and liners will this require?

Steve B: The cheek pads will only adjust the part of the helmet that is by your cheeks. Try on the helmet with the liner in but the cheek pads out. That will tell you if the top of the helmet and the size, large or medium, would fit you, Once you figure that out, put in the cheek pads that came with the helmet. If they don't fit snug, estimate how much wider ones you need, if too tight, estimate how much narrower ones you need. With the helmet on and pads in, you should try to move the helmet around on your head. Your head should not move much, if at all, inside the helmet. Much like armor in clothing, it needs to be in the right place. My helmet fits snug over my head - the neck hole usually bends the top of my ears over when I put it on, but then my ears move back and it is comfortable. It should not be so tight as to be painful though. The cheek pads that came with my helmet pushed on my cheeks so that if I closed my jaw I would bite my cheek. I went 5 mm narrower, and they fit snug but much better. As you wear the helmet, the liner and cheek pads will compress, and will fit more custom to your face and head. I do not know if liners come in different sizes, but you do have to be sure you have the right size helmet before fine-tuning the cheek pads. I would suggest finding a store or a friend with a medium helmet and compare to yours, then go from there.

The Profile is an excellent helmet, but if you cant get it to fit, try another model Arai or a similar quality brand like Shoei. I must have tried on 50 helmets before I settled on my Profile. You will know when you get the right one, it will just feel right. One is not better than the other for quality at this level, but one may fit you better and that is the key.

Rainier M: You cannot just interchange the cheek pads and liner to make the large fit like a medium. The shell sizes for s/m are different than the l/xl. Oct 5, 2014
