If you want a shield for your Arai other than a clear one and want it to fit right, etc, there really isn't much of a choice other than "pay the piper". That being said, the "built in" vents are nice and it seems to be a quality product, like the helmet itself.

great shield. Really like the dark smoke , its about as dark as a pair of Ray Bans . Blocks the sun but you can still see safely till dusk. Dont really need the brow venting these shields have . My arai helmet flows a ton of air without them.

I picked up this shield to use on sunny days so I don't have to bring my sunglasses along. Fits perfect, typical Arai.

I got the dark smoke for my day rides. It's a bit of a challenge the first couple of times. After you get over the feeling you're ripping your helmet apart, the changes become quick and easy. Otherwise, it fits perfectly and it keeps the sun out. I was hoping the shield provided UV protection, but I don't see any info. regarding this. So if it's not identified, I assume it doesn't have UV protection. That would be my only dislike.

Have you ever replaced a cracked, pitted car windshield with a new one and been amazed how your standard of living improved? Replacing my visor in my Arai Quantum 2 made me feel similarly ecstatic. I bought the metallic blue, which look great and act as sunglasses. It does scratch easiliy, Don't wipe moisture off with your glove.

Answer:
We can only confirm the SAQ Face Shield fits on the Arai Quantum/f and the Arai Quantum/s helmets. Since the Quantum/e is much older, it may be difficult to obtain parts for it, since Arai only recommends using a helmet for around 5 years. It may be time to Treat yo self to a new helmet, since EPS linings do begin to break down over such long times.2 months ago

I have a clear shield Quantum-II. I am considering buying a tinted screen (dark smoke or light smoke). I just have a small concern whether the dark smoke is not too dark... I live in California, so it's pretty sunny here ;)

I haven't tried the dark smoke color from Arai but i have tried the Scorpion version of it and looked through many others. In my experience no tint on the market is too dark for daytime riding and most tints are too dark for night-time riding.You don't want to get caught after sunset with a tinted visor and having to ride with it up to see. Better to use a clear visor with sunglasses that can be easily removed than have to get bug splats in your eyes while riding in the dark with your tinted visor up.
If you never ride at night then you'll probably be ok with whatever strikes your fancy.
