Answer: 
This boot does have a foam pad over the ankle on the outside of the boot. However, there is no ankle protection on the inside.

Yes, but not very much. The leather is soft with a hard shield inside the shaft. It's about the size of a quarter.

My calf has a 15.25 inch circumference without jeans. Any chance this would expand enough for me? Any suggestion for a boot that will provide serious ankle protection, and fit my Beefy legs? (I wear about a 7.5 US womans shoe) I ride a Honda VTX1300C, and a Buell Blast.
