A Solid Tinted Visor I purchased the Iridium Gold visor for the Simoncelli helmet. It was exactly what I expected. It fits helmet perfectly just as the stock one. It does say it's for race use on the visor and includes tear off posts. Great tint during the day. It's a little dark at night but I can still see as long as there are street lights. August 20, 2014
This product is as Described AGV is one the best helmets out. I've had AGV helmets for 9 years and the fit and finish is superior to others. July 21, 2014
Not much to say, great product I've only used this lens for about 2 weeks. Clean, clear lens with no noticeable distortion. I got the 'SMOKE' color and it's great in the day time. Haven't had much use at night yet but it doesn't seem like it'd be bad at all. Great tint, can't see in from outside but nice on the inside. Easy install. BUT first practice taking out and putting back in with the STOCK clear lens, that way you know how the inserts line up. The only thing I don't like is that it's "not rated for street" use, meaning it offers less protection than other lenses. Made for track. Having said that, I use this as my daily driver on 20 minute freeway rides. July 15, 2014
Good products for me for over 15 years Love the mid to high end AGV race helmets... First thing I do is get a light smoke and a dark smoke visor to go with the stock clear. Clear is night only for me... but even then I tend to use the light smoke at times of year when it is dark in the mornings so it is still good when in traffic but probably not ok out where there are no street lights... but I've done it a couple times and it wasn't tooo bad out of town... however in the city it is still perfect at midnight with city lighting. Dark is the same but can be a little uncomfortable when it is dark out in the city so I wouldn't recommend it there... but I'd say dawn to dusk is perfect for that one... it is pretty scary out on the highway at night if you are in deer country though, so I wouldn't push the dark smoke once it gets really dark out and definitely not out of town unless you really have to. But the REAL AGV visors are always good visors, knockoffs work but haze quicker, fog more and distort vision more and are not worth the $20 discount over the real thing. just a note they are all anti scratch and fog resistant, but unless you get the anti-fog version, they can fog up a little when temps get really cold but they work fine in summer... I crack my regular visors and it is fine, but I switch out to the more expensive anti-fog model when I drive temps below freezing. On all of these visors, clarity is great & without distortion.. pretty much like nothing is there other than a little tint and no air in the eyes... well, until you've had the visor a few years and get some deep scratches in it... but it is pretty scratch resistant overall... and way better than anything HJC has My dad's HJC looks grungy and dirty from scratches and cleaning bugs off... yet mine is pristine with similar if not more use overall. The Italian made AGV helmets have been awesome for me, but some of the lower models have been slipping a little since the lower lines have started being made in china... the Italian ones are still first class and I'll take them over Shoei any day and my china made T-2 is still better then the majority of the competition. I needed another faceshield I got a AGV T2 helmet but in summer the one that comes with the helmet is not sun blocking so I got the light smoke which is too close to the clear then I exchanged for the SMOKE (BTW great customer service from Revzilla) when I got it it looked very dark to me but actually when you ride it it is very clear and the vision is great (may be not at night - I have not tried) The AGV helmet have easy pop out / pop in side clips so fairly simple to switch faceshield. Personally I wish they had a tint that was not as dark but darker than the light smoke. October 29, 2013
i like dark tint fits well the tearoff post are nice to have. I would buy the face shield again. October 21, 2013
Disappointing to the average rider. My first impression was that the smoke face shield was lighter and flimsier than the original clear shield that came with my GP Tech helmet. It was initially hard to put in as for the inner peg must meet with the red latch inside the helmet which was slightly hard to see due to me getting a tinted shield, But not the end of the world. My biggest disappointment was that the shield came with a note stating that it does not meet any safety regulations and should only be used on the track (could explain the lighter flimsier feel?) so basically if you wear a DOT (or whatever regs your country has) approved helmet on the road and want a tinted shield don't plan on your eyes being protected from any elements that can penetrate or shatter the face shield. As far as the tinting its great! inside its a light grey color while outside the lenses are pitch black. I also chose the non anti-fog treated lens due to the fact that if you use a cleaner such as windex or alcohol it can cloud the shield. if you end up getting that feature just use water and a microfiber cloth. Hope this helps. July 29, 2013
Best faceshield ever!! I got the Iridium Mirror for my AGV T-2 and its just amazing how good does it look from the inside and the outside. Its just great and I extremely recommend it for anyone who has a T-2 helmet. June 7, 2013

A shopper asked: I'm in need of a "day time" visor for my 5 Continents. I was debating between blue or gold. Anyone want to chime in? Also, my gf has a black gp tech, and she was wondering which color to go with, blue, gold or silver. Let me know! Thanks Sep 14, 2012

RevZilla: For the 5 Continents Helmet, the blue visor would match well since the helmet has a good amount of blue on it. For the Black helmet, gold or silver are the most common choices from our customers. We also have several employee's here that have a solid black helmet who use a gold mirror visor. Ultimately the choice is up to the rider, but any of the mirrored shields will work well for day time riding, as they help to reduce the glare from the sun and offer some tinting as well. TopGun14: Between blue and gold, I would go with blue. If it were me, I would go with a dark smoke. For your girlfriend's, I would go with gold. Honestly though, any color with straight black would work. May 13, 2013

A shopper asked: Which is the clear one that comes with the GP Tech? I'm looking to get a darker visor to use for the bright, hot, sunny days here in LA. Would the anti-fog functionality matter in such a situation? Also is there any sort of polarization to these, or would it be a good idea to wear oakleys or something underneath the visor? (I typically wear them when driving my car, but I'm new to motorcycles) Jul 10, 2011

1050Hooligan: I'm not sure if the smoke tint shield is polarized (probably not, might be more expensive) or if it has anti fog coating (probably does) but I haven't had any issues with either. On a recent hot, bright day (around 90¬?f) I had no pockets for my sun glasses while riding, had to wear them under the tinted visor and there wasn't much difference with the sun glasses on or off (visor up or down). Tinted visor does a very good job blocking the sun by itself. Hope this helps Oct 29, 2011

cradled: I don't think that you'd benefit from anti-fog functionality in LA, unless it's a super humid day, and if that's the case, open the visor a bit and vent it out. No polarization to the dark smoke, and no need to wear oakleys. The dark color is great. I'm in Tucson, AZ where's it's bright and hot. The only thing I'd be wary of is riding this when it is dark, because it does indeed tint quite a bit! I'd say just grab this one, skip the anti-fog. Jul 2, 2012

ScottJoon: I live in LA also, and although i love the dark shield so i dont have to wear sunglasses when i ride, i do find the fogging a bit of an annoyance.

you dont see it (the fogging) when your riding, mostly at stop lights and so forth.

Chris K: For fair weather riding, the anti-fog properties won't really matter. These faceshields do protect from UV-A and UV-B, but are not polarized. Jul 27, 2011
