Adaptiv Technologies TPX Wireless Headset for Radar Detector
Works fine but needs improvement...
This is the only way I can hear my TPX radar detector. It works as advertised with no issues other than some design improvements that need to be addressed.
The ear piece needs to be made more durable. The foam covering will be wear out with one good year of riding. If the foam doesn't give out than the wire going into it will fray eventually.
It needs to have a better indicator that shows if it is powered on. Easy to miss and I go through a lot of batteries.
These are not expensive or difficult improvements so all I can say is that Adaptiv lets the poor design create a market that has to repurchase almost every year.

Works just like it's supposed to. Easy install with provided Velcro. Plenty of volume, easy to hear with earplugs. Haven't used it long enough to gauge battery life yet. Included screwdriver is a nice addition. Pleased with the product.

Essential item to go with adaptiv radar detector
Should really come as part of the package. I have one on all my helmets. With these fitted you can concentrate fully on the road without worrying about missing a warning. Easy to fit. I put mine on the back of the helmet, doesn't interfer with aerodynamics. Tip: turn it off when you finish your ride or the battery will run flat .

It really is the only way to hear the Adaptive radar detector on a motorcycle
It really is the only way to hear the Adaptive radar detector on a motorcycle. However, it is fragile and poorly designed. You attach the receiver to your helmet. It is very easy to accidentally hit the button and turn on the unit, which will drain the battery. I have just ordered my third wireless headset. They break frequently even though I am really careful with the unit. I never use it in the rain, and I am very careful not to let it touch anything when I set my helmet down, mainly because something might press on the button and drain the battery.

Mandatory with the TPX radar detector
The 3-LED warning light that comes with the TPX radar detector works well. But unless it mounted well within your field of vision, you won't see it in the daytime. I mounted mine on top of the speedo cluster, right in front of my face, and I still don't see when it goes off. This receiver/speaker solves that problem. Easy way is to mount the receiver on the outside of the helmet, but I mounted it internally so it is not visible. I've had it on for 4 full days of riding and the battery is still good. Just don't forget to turn it off when you're done riding.
