The Nolan X-Lite X-551 Helmet is Nolan's first foray into developing an adventure touring / dual sport helmet. The Nolan X-551 is a premium level, top quality helmet which is touted to be the first ADV helmet which features an internal sun visor and comes stock ready to accept a Nolan N-COM communication system
The X-551 features Nolans extremely lightweight and high quality X-Lite composite shell. The ECE version of this helmet comes in at around 1600 grams and the US DOT may be even lighter. Pricing is expected to be around $550 which pits this helmet head-to-head with the Arai XD-3 and Shoei Hornet.
