Zero Gravity Sport Touring Windscreen Kawasaki KLR650

Zero Gravity is proud to introduce their tallest performance windscreen, the Zero Gravity Sport Touring Windscreen. This windscreen is designed to maximize your riding pleasure with superior wind protection. The Sport Touring Windscreen features a unique design, crafted to reduce the windblast on the rider and provide a more comfortable ride while in the touring and sport touring riding positions.

All Zero Gravity Windscreens feature optically clear acrylic that absorbs vibration, resists cracking and are fabricated using highly specialized vacuum forming techniques, similar to those used to form aircraft canopies. The result is a virtually distortion free windscreen with the finest optical clarity on the market. Additionally, light scratches can be buffed out of acrylic windscreens as opposed to polycarbonate windscreens that can be permanently marred.

Features:

  • Shock resistant
  • Vacuum formed
  • Distortion free

Great shield for the KLR 650
When used with the KLRdash, this is the first shield that got my helmet out of the "buffet zone." There is now a smooth stream of air passing just above my helmet, yet I still look comfortably over the shield (I am 6' 1" tall with a 33 inch inseam). Just wish it was a tad wider for highway speeds. I still take some air on my shoulders at speeds over 45 mph, which is why I rated it a 4 for Performance. Overall, an amazing improvement from the stock shield, or any other shield I've tried so far.

Nice styling, better performance
Put the sport touring windscreen on my 2009 KLR 650 as I had an 800 mile trip planned. With the factory windscreen I was getting knocked around pretty bad at 65+ MPH. After I installed this screen I rode it down to Moab from the Colorado high country and was very impressed. Made riding much more enjoyable and I was able to turn my head and take in the views. Highly recommend this product. My only complaint is that it doesn't include new rubber well nuts (the factory ones were dry rotted after 6 years so be careful when you remove them from your old windscreen if you plan to reuse them)I am 5'11".

Good screen, depending on your needs...
I'm 6'1", and was looking for a taller than stock option. I like the "dark smoke" tint, which seem to suggest you can still see through it, but be aware that it's completely black (i.e. not possible to see through at all). I still see clear over the screen, and I'm really impressed how it cut down airflow around my shoulders for such a skinny profile. (It is not much, if at all, wider than the stock screen). It makes a huge difference on comfort levels at freeway speeds. It installs easy and improved the looks of the bike.

On the negative side: I went from relatively clean air flow that hit me in the neck to fairly turbulent/choppy flow above 50 mph. It now hits me above the eye-line, but does not clear my helmet. It also seems to quite successfully funnel bugs right onto my visor, which is a pain. So it seems that if you're around 5'10'' or less, (and of course depending on your seat; mine is stock) this might clear your helmet and leave you in a quiet bubble. Above that, you'll probably need a taller option, or a laminar lip, if you want to be free of the dreaded noisy and shaking helmet drone.

World of difference, KLR 650
Bought a Zero Gravity based on a friends recommendation. Installed this on a KLR 650 (2013) from the stock windscreen. Hardware is not included, that is the only problem. Use the hardware from your OEM windscreen, and badabing badaboo! You'll have yourself great wind protection! The KLR is still very manageable at 85 MPH with this screen. Definitely a great buy!

Great windscreen
This is a great windscreen but by design is very flexible so there is a bit of shaking with the wind at higher speed. The shape is great and with a set of risers it throws the wind JUST over my head (5'11") without looking rediculous at the same time. I finished a ride and the whole bike was plastered in bugs and I didn't have a single one on my head. Without the risers it probably wouldn't be as functional for me.

Great product
Couldn't ask for a better windshield. I'm 6'5 and wanted a taller shield and this is perfect it's not too tall not too short. And really like the fact it's tinted. I would definitely recommend it.

Good fit, better wind protection
This product works as advertised. It fit my KLR, which I use daily for a 125 mile round trip commute, and it has made a big difference in wind protection over the stock shield. The only drawback is that my master cylinder hits the shield at full lock, but the shield is flexible enough that this does no damage, and it does not prevent me from a full-lock turn. I should also mention that I have risers on my bars. I don't think this would occur with stock bar height. Revzilla, as always, got this to me on time and in great shape.

Solid product, a little short to shield wind from helmet.
Solid product, a little short to shield wind from helmet. An inch or so taller would make a big difference.

Great windscreen for the KLR
I have the sport touring screen paired with the Happy Trails Rallye kit and it is a great combination for my 6'2 self with 34" inseam. The combo pushes the air right over my helmet with no buffetting. Make sure you choose the light smoke version or clear. The dark smoke version is very hard to see through and will limit your vision of the road directly infront of you.

june bugs hurt at 65 mph
rick b on Jul 13, 2016
Originally bought one in "smoke." With my KLRdash, I had to look through the dark shield at objects directly in front of me. Not good. Returned the "smoke" for a "clear" shield and totally love it. Combined with the KLRdash, the wind actually does not buffet my head at highway speeds with this shield. Best set-up ever for a KLR windshield for my 6'1" frame!

Major upgrade over the KLR650 screen. Looking back, I should have gone for light smoke, for those faster highway rides. I chose dark smoke which looks sweet on the black bike, but it is hard to see through it when hiding from the wind, now its more like horse blinders, just forcing further trail reading which is a good habit anyways.

I'm 6'3", read reviews on this item. seems to work for taller riders.

My factory wing screen didn't do anything but shade the speedo.

Needed more wind protection. With the windscreen risers I have on my KLR, this blows the wind completely over me. Im 5'11"

There is too much wind hitting me on the bike. After watching the video I thought this might fix it.

Loved the quality and looks of the Zero Gravity double bubble. Being 6'2" i wanted something a little taller so i decided to go with the sport touring screen

Do you have this product with the vinyl mask? I think its 206v and Im looking for the Lt. smoke version for my klr650? Thanks.
A shopper on Oct 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello! I have one on my 2014 KLR 650. It is light smoke and, to me, looks great on the bike. I don't have a vinyl mask; I don't know what that is. I'm 6' tall - it far better protects me from buffeting than the stock shield.

I'm very satisfied with this product.

What is it made of , acrylic? How much higher is it then factory one?
A shopper on Aug 28, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes they are acrylic. They I believe the sport touring screen is 3 inches taller than stock. If you use windshield risers like the ones from klrdash you can change the angle as well as ad more bight to it. That's the setup I use and it works great. Zero gravity shields are a bit more flexible so that is something to get used to.
Will a MRA spoiler fit this shield?
