Yoshimura RS-4 Exhaust System Kawasaki Ninja 650R 2012-2015
I'll keep this short and sweet. This is an awesome exhaust in all aspects: sound, looks, performance (according to my butt). Just get it.
It gets rid of that motox stock sound of the Ninja 650, and replaces it with a low deep mean growl that definitely grabs the attention of bystanders and motorists. I definitely use it frequently to make my presence known to an inattentive car driver swaying into my path (it's not like there's many of those...........).
It sounds amazing without the db killer, but will definitely hurt your ears without earplugs after a while, and neighbors might complain at late hours. The silencer does a good job of lowering the sound level output but at the expense of some meanliness low deep growling, but it also saves your ears (Even if your ears don't hurt at that exact moment, high volume exposure to them will hurt them permanently over time and you can't get it back, so protect your ears at all time).
FYI: for those looking for a replacement db killer / 'low volume insert' this is the part you need:

Best I've found for a 2012-2015 Ninja 650
Researched exhaust manufacturers / reviews / listened to a bunch of clips and found that, hands down, this exhaust is the best sounding of the lot in my opinion.
Great build quality, very easy to install(Don't even need to remove fairings) and looks amazing. Not sure if I noticed substantial, if any, performance gains. I bought it mainly for the sound/look -The silencer was the first thing to go.
So if you're on the fence about which exhaust to go for on the Ninja 650 I highly recommend checking the Yoshi RS-4 out.

This exhaust literally only took me 15 minutes to install! Sounds great. Fits like a glove.

Great Product, Nice Sound
Installed this over the weekend.
TIP - Pull up the directions for the Two Brothers exhaust system if you want some better directions on how to remove your old exhaust. I fail at life when it comes to doing my installs so this took more like 3 hours for me lol.
The exhaust sounds much deeper and nicer in person ( I kept the DB insert in it.) I am extremely happy with the quality of the part. I used the spacers and all and will keep the DB insert in it for now.
My 2013 Ninja 650 ABS does backfire a little bit now but I haven't decided if I will end up committing to getting a power commander or juicebox. We'll see. :)
Am very happy with my purchase.

Great Sound and Looks, No need for Power Commander or Juice Box
I bought this exhaust for my 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 650. The sound of stock was docile and I wanted to be heard on the street and be safe, specially from the Car Drivers talking on the phone, while sipping their coffee and making a turn on intersections - or changing lanes :)
1. Even with the quiet insert that comes standard-pre installed, the sound is Loud, I was riding by and a couple of times cops gave me 'I hear you riding by' look in NJ :) ....I'm sure it would be insane louder without the quiet insert. I've heard people driving with mad loud exhausts in NJ anyway...
2. Power commander is not needed and this works fine as stock replacement, unless you are tuning for a particular race track and want to change fuel supply map to a custom map. I got this reply in email from Yoshimura customer service. Alas, I had already bought and installed it by then since they took two weeks to respond :).
3. I got the installation of the full exhaust and power commander V done by the dealer, after buying these from Revzilla. He charged me for 2 hours of labor for installation of both the things and computer tuning for standard map for power commander. Even though the bike only had 1000 miles I changed the gaskets .....what is another 30 bucks while i'm throwing in all my savings on Mods:)
4. Can't comment on durability as I've had this for only 50 miles but Revzilla wouldn't let me leave it alone so I've rated excellent

After an exhaustive search of every available system for this bike, I settled on the yoshimura and the final result exceeds my expectations.
In terms of design, they really nailed it. No other system (in my opinion) integrates so seamlessly into the unique styling nuances of the 2012-14 ninja 650.
The materials, fit, finish, and construction are all superb. The stock headers, mid pipe, and canister are garbage in comparison.
I verified with yoshimura (and received the comprehensive reply the same day) that this system is designed to run with the stock fuel settings. Dyno charts are on par with everyone else's...Arrow, Remus, and Akrapovic are the other systems that received my most serious consideration.
Installation was painless - aided by the precision design.
Didn't even try it with the db killer in, that went straight into the garbage. Almost a shame because that too is beautiful. CNC machined aluminum with a stainless tube.
End result, night and day. Loud. But crisp and clean. I'd describe the sound as similar to a smaller cc ducati with an aftermarket exhaust, but cleaner and more crisp. Pleasantly loud with the typical twin boom-boom. Night and day improvement to throttle response. Less abrupt engine braking upon decel. And the fueling is spot on.
Agree or disagree...I don't care. But that is my educated opinion. I don't usually write reviews, but there isn't much good information written about this system on this bike, so I'm hoping it helps someone fretting about their own exhaust choice.
