The R-77 consists of a trapezoidal-shaped sleeve, maximizing muffler volume, while offering a sharp silhouette to flow with the new body. The innovative end-cap is reminiscent of the R-55, featuring sharp edges for an attractive, eye catching appeal.
Slip-on systems include the R-77 muffler, stainless steel mid-pipe, and all necessary hardware for installation.

I had been meaning to do this since I got my bike, I'm happy it turned out this well. It was pretty easy took me about 45 minutes to do and I'm not all that handy.
I'm not riding hard enough to notice any performance difference and unless I go for the powercommander next, I probably won't. I got the slip on because I liked the look of the carbon fiber and wanted something that sounded a little angrier than the stock exhaust. This delivered both, very well. I put the silencer in to keep my neighbors happy and I think I'll leave it, it's a good balance of angry but not too loud.

Looks and sounds great
Really easy to install. Sounds way better than stock. A lot louder at low rpms and a little louder at high rpms, but a much deeper growl everywhere. It's not excessively loud so I haven't used the db killer, but I probably would put it in for a longer highway trip.

Ryan C asked:Will I need to tune my bike to use this product on my FZ8? Is it needed, preferred, or best? I have looked through the Installation pdf. and on Yoshimura's website and haven't found a definitive answer, please help.Mar 9, 2015
August C:I haven't installed my exhaust yet, but i did a good amount of research before buying on this subject. A new exhaust (like the r77) will allow more air through the engine system, causing the bike to run slightly lean. Because the change is not a large amount, the stock ECU should be able to adjust for the difference, so tuning the bike, either with a PCV/Bazzaz/ECU reflash isn't necessary. If you want the most power out of the mod however, tuning the bike will allow you to get the full potential of the exhaust. If, like me, your more in it for the sound/look its not necessary.
In general the rule of thumb i've heard for all bikes is this:
Just slipon, tune not needed (but if done, would increase power)
Slipon + K&N air filter or other intake mods, tune becomes more necessary
