Yoshimura R77 Street Slip-On Exhaust Kawasaki Z1000
The R-77 has played an integral role in Yoshimura's road racing efforts for years, and our track record is a true testament of it's capabilities. When matched with the newly designed Kawasaki Z1000, the R-77 is brought to it's full potential. With the modern and aggressive look of the Z1000, the distinctive shape and sound of the R-77 is the perfect complement to an already amazing bike.
Slip-On Exhaust System includes Dual R-77 mufflers, stainless steel tail-pipes, installation hardware, and detailed step-by-step directions.
Note: This exhaust is CARB compliant. Please check local laws before purchasing. Some modifications may be prohibited in some states.
Fairly simple installation, instructions could have been clearer
Disclaimer: Now the title of this review might make it seem like the instructions are confusing, and they probably wouldn't be for anyone who knew *anything* about what they were doing, my perspective is that of a complete noob who's never taken a wrench to the exhaust before (and didn't know what a gasket was). I did get confused a couple times.
Just in case the gaskets on your stock exhaust aren't in good enough condition to re-use (they might not be, by the time you get them on the slip-ons) you might want to have another pair on hand. I was able to re-use mine without much of a problem.
I felt like the pictures could have been clearer, and getting the servo cables off the servo motor under the seat had me stumped for a while, but a complete noob like me was able to finish the job within a reasonable amount of time without breaking anything. If you've ever done something like this before, you'll be able to accomplish it in a matter of minutes, I'd wager. It really is quite straightforward once you've figured out what you're doing.
The result is awesome. I got the titanium exhausts, and there's a drastic difference in sound, and a difference in weight as well. The stock exhaust on this model did look pretty sick, but I'm glad I made the switch here. It sounds much more throaty and less whiney, and if you have neighbors you might annoy with the sound (or you just don't like it too loud), baffled inserts are included with it to dampen the sound without losing its tenor. Everything fit together very well, the parts are high quality. I don't think I'll keep stock exhausts on any bike I ever have again. Yoshimura has pleased me greatly.

Even with only the tips the bike is growling.
Easy to install and the quality and design are perfect.

james m asked:I've tried researching this but can't get a straight answer on it. Do the slip ons for a 2013 Z1000 fit a 2014 Z1000? Keep seeing exhausts that say they fit 2010-2014 Z's, but I thought the 2014's was slightly different. Anybody know for sure?Jun 5, 2014
james m:I went ahead and bought these for my 2014 Z1000 even though the listing says fits 2010-2014 even though the 2014 looks totally different. And some forums have mixed recommendations. Some claim it should fit, some say the bike was totally redesigned and probably wont fit. I finally got mine in and they fit perfectly without incident. Were super easy to install and a good deal lighter than the factory ones. Was surprised how good they sounded. Nice deep tone, and while a good bit louder, not enough to liquify your brain on the highway. Absolutely love them. To confirm, these do in fact fit the 2014 Z1000 perfectly. Highly reccomend.Aug 12, 2014
