Yoshimura R77 Race Slip-On Exhaust Honda CBR300R / CB300F

The Yoshimura R-77 Slip-On Exhaust was designed with the needs of the racer in mind. Using the feedback received from the Yoshimura Road Racing Team, their designers came up with a muffler that is constructed from lightweight materials, grants a significant boost in power thanks to its high-flow trapezoidal shape and gives your bike a great sound without being excessively loud.  The muffler will help your engine make more power while reducing overall weight. The end result is an exhaust that will let your motorcycle reach its maximum potential!

Features:

  • Superbike technology and styling
  • Trapezoidal-shaped sleeve
  • Straight baffle for ample flow
  • Innovative end-cap
  • Stainless steel mid-pipe (applicable models)
  • Made in the USA

a worthwhile aftermarket choice
I wasn't expecting any big hp gains, just wanted to ditch the heavy stock exhaust. Fit and finish are good and installation was a breeze. There was one curveball though. Yosh recommends drilling a small hole in the stock header to insert a supplied metal "bolt" that fits under the hose clamp to keep the can from rotating after everything is bolted together. It was a bit loud for my liking so I installed the supplied "silencer". It still has plenty of grunt, just not quite as tinny. Note: to install the silencer pull off the rubber bung on the exhaust tip to access the screw hole, insert the silencer, add a little lock-tight and screw together. Be careful when pushing back the rubber bung, mine pushed all of the way through. Thankfully the folks at Yosh sent me a new one along with a keychain. To sum it up, good fit and finish, easy to install, maybe gained a horse or two, but the biggest plus is the wight saving. You might be surprised at how heavy the stock can is.

It ain't a bad purchase
Fast shipping, easy to install, looks great, wayyyy lighter then the orginal one. Only downside is it kinda makes your bike sound like a dirt bike with really high compression(but then again it is 300cc). But I've learned to kinda love it in a way haha I recommend it.

Quality construction, easy install, and the sound you want.
Given that the CBR 300R is a single cylinder thumper, it has a unique sound all its own. However, one could easily say that the factory exhaust leaves a little something to be desired. A colleague described it as "an angry lawn mower." Yoshimura's R-77 definitely cures the Honda of such a description.

Removal of the factory exhaust required a socket wrench and a box wrench. Two bolts and the factory slides off. You mate the exhaust hanger to the silicone gasket, slide it on the can, and slide the can into place. Screw in the hanger, and you're half way home. If you follow the factory instructions all the way, you will need to drill a small hole in the factory down pipe, in order to add the security bolt. Essential of you plan on really pushing your bile. However, if you're moving quickly, attaching and tightening the pipe clamp takes a socket wrench, and thats it. Total replacement time? maybe 45 minutes. If your dad has a killer set of tools, you can swap out.

Once replaced, the Yoshimura exhaust has a more pronounced growl than the factory can. If you choose to remove the included baffle, it gets throatier. The Yoshimura is also lighter, and a lower profile. It definitely gets noticed when riding. Also, the Yoshimura smooths out the bike's engine at higher RPM. With the factory can, the bike can get some rattles around 6-7K RPM. With the Yoshimura, the CBR is smooth through the whole power band.

Way louder than stock & quiet core baffle doesn't help much.
The fit & finish is excellent. Installed easily. Wiped it down with alcohol, then started motor. Man was it loud, so I installed the quiet core baffle. It was also very loud. Had I known it would be this loud I probably would not have bought it. It is an improvement in weight reduction and size. Much better looking too.

Extremely Happy!!
I was a little skeptic to purchase this muffler at first but I am very glad I did. The "cf" finish looks amazing, dropped about 10 pounds off the overall weight of the bike.
The sound!!! Couldn't be happier, I get a nice deep sound instead of that horrible wailing noise.
Shipping was extremely fast!

Great looking exhaust
This yoshimura slip on makes a huge difference in appearance and weight. It's super easy to install, and the sound is much nicer than the stock exhaust. I wasn't able to hear my bike over the sound of leaf blowers before, so from a safety standpoint, it's definitely nice to be heard by cars finally.

Great addition to my 300..
I think this pipe is a great addition to my bike.. It was a bit steep in cost but the finish and quality are high up there so I can't complain. I bought it so my bike would be louder and it sure is.. I feel more comfortable with people hearing me when I'm on the road. It came with a silencer but I have yet to really use it, It fits right in and helps with noise. I am happy that it made my 300 more enjoyable to ride since I can hear it roar as I get on the gas. On long rides I recommend some ear plugs but overall it looks great and fits the profile, and adds enough noise to make it "cool". Installation was easy as well.

Awsome great looking
I bought this product a month ago. So far I love it! It looks amazing and sounds just as good as it looks. I had bought the carbon fiber one manly for looks. At first I was hesitate about buying this product even after watching several videos on it. In the videos they sounded dual but now that I got one they sound much deep and louder in person.

Looks great sounds great
CBR300 is the best sounding single after adding this muffler. A quiet growl at low RPMs and screams at 10,500 rpm. Will not fit the CBR250 without modification, the CBR300 head pipe is longer.

Love it!
Super love this slip on exhaust! It's easy to install and the sound of it is awesome. It is definitely lighter than the stock exhaust. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it though I still hope that yoshimura would lower their price a little :)

Shipping was a little slow for me but I think it's just me super excited! Hehe! I think I harrassed Revzilla everyday to know the shipping status haha! But it's super worth the wait! My bike looks very cool with this added mod :)

after checking all the reviews on other exhaust system this one topped all the rest. price is a little high but for looks and performance its never to much.

I've previously owned several Yoshimura slip-ons and full systems. I think they are well-made and competitively priced.

I really like this exhaust but I live in CA which I believe is not legal on the streets? What can I do to make this legal :) any thoughts?
Evangeline G on Jan 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I know a lot of people in California who has alternative exhaust systems on there's and have not been caught or sited. However! That said. If California has smog requirements for motorcycles, Then it becomes a matter of Pay Your Money and Take Your Chances. Personally I would get it and put the Sound Baffle in so not make it too obvious. Also don't throw your factory exhaust away as it has the Cat. Converter in it. Just in case you have put it back on for smog testing if get my meaning. Also be advised Yoshimura has the exhaust header pipes with the Cat. Converter in it. That's another option to ponder. I hope this helped, Good Luck
What is the actual decibel increase after installing the r77 slip on without the silencer? How does this compare to 2 brothers, scorpion, akroprovic, etc?
Ian K on Jul 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know the actual decibel level but it is over 100db. It is quieter than most other aftermarket slip ons but still sounds much better than stock. I put the silencer in after about a month because there was a drone at highway speeds that was uncomfortable without ear plugs. Fit and finish is good and let's be honest, it is just a slip on for a single so hp gains are minimal. Hope that helps. 300 was a fun learner but it has since been traded in for the 600.
Will this fit a 2016 honda cbr300r?
A shopper on Jul 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes! I currently ride a 2016 CBR300R with a Yoshimura slip-on installed.
This install is very easy, and the directions are clear. All you will need is the correct size Allen key for the job. I recommend applying blue Loctite just to be safe!
Any good alternative that is not as loud?
A C on Jul 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Its loud but sounds amazing keep the silencer in
Does this product cause any issue with engine light coming on or issues with fuel that would require the engine management to be tuned?
A shopper on Feb 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: There were no engine light issues. It will occasionally pop on deceleration but I don't know if any fuel management would really be necessary.
Hi there
I want to ask that can this be used on a 2014 cbr250r or I should get the ones design for cbr250r?
because all the slip-on for cbr250r is for 2011-2013 model, while mines is 2014 model
so just wanna to check, or both will work?
thx
A shopper on Nov 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes! The exhaust system is the same and will work. The 300's are the same frame and motor as the 250. Except the 300 has a reworked engine head and a new programed fuel module with new transmission gear ratios to take advantage of the 17% more horsepower. ( And it is FASTER )

I need to see a dyno graph and how heavy is this muffler?
A shopper on Oct 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The muffler is little less than 1/2 the weight of the factory muffler. Approximately 5.3 lbs. If your going to DYNO TUNE your bike with this muffle you need to have the full system and not the Slip On. Also you will need a different fuel module to be programed to get the performance out of the system which would be noticeable. This slip on by itself has some minimal increase when graphed only, Not When Riding. The R77 Slip On looks good and sounds greats, not to mention the easy install. Hope this helps................WBV
